Georgia Man Kills Missing Woman, Drives Home with Her Body in Car: Police – Crime Online

A Georgia man is accused of murdering a missing woman in South Carolina and police now suspect that her remains have been discovered.

According to WBMF, 52-year-old Kristin Laymon, of Duluth, Georgia, vanished last year and is now believed to have been killed on September 23 while staying in North Myrtle Beach. She was last seen on an elevator at around 2:12 a.m., at the resort she had been staying at.

According to the Duluth Police Department, Laymon’s daughter reported her missing on October 9, and described her as a “chronic substance abuser.”

Her daughter told police she became concerned when tried to reach Laymon, and her calls went to voicemail each time.

An unusual bank statement for Bitcoin for $1,000 caught Laymon’s daughter’s attention, she told police. She also said her mother had received numerous statements after her account went into overdraft, News 13 reports.

An investigation revealed that Laymon traveled to North Myrtle Beach with 42-year-old Bornold Eberhart, and an altercation reportedly occurred between the two. He’s now facing murder charges and police believe he killed Laymon, then drove her body to his Dekalb County home in Georgia.

Police arrested Eberhart on March 3 and extradited him to North Myrtle Beach on March 8. He remains behind bars in Horry County.

On March 9, Dekalb County police discovered what is believed to be Laymon’s remains. They are currently waiting on confirmation from the medical examiner to confirm the identity and cause of death.

The North Myrtle Beach Police Department is scheduled to provide additional information Thursday afternoon.
