Steve McBee Sr. is officially home from prison after serving out his sentence for pleading guilty to federal crop insurance fraud. The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys patriarch was sentenced to two years in federal prison and two years of supervised release, in addition to paying more than $4 million in restitution. Â After Steve Sr. reported to prison on Dec. 1, 2025, his son, Steven McBee Jr., revealed earlier this year that his dad would be getting released on Sept. 11. Steve Jr. confirmed his father’s arrival home on that date on Instagram Stories, sharing a sweet moment of Steve Sr. and his family reunited at the farm.Â
His son captioned the moment, “Life is good.” Steve Jr. also shared another photo of his dad on his social media that celebrated the family patriarch’s release with a “Welcome home” message that added how much he was missed.
Prior to Steve Sr.’s release, his son, Steve Jr., spoke about how his dad was feeling in the weeks before his release. “He’s doing great. He’s ready to get home, ready to see the grandbabies and ready to cook us some dinners,” he told Page Six in July.Â
His comments mirror an update that his brother, Cole McBee, shared with Bravo Insider in June about his dad’s mood in prison. “My dad, you know, this is a tough situation, but he’s doing good. And he’s a very cup-half-full type of guy,” he said at the time. “He always sees the best side of every situation and tries to get through things, so he would laugh about this too.”

Steven Jr. was very excited about his dad’s return to the McBee family farm in Gallatin, Missouri, after serving his prison time in South Dakota. Days prior to Steve Sr.’s release, Steve Jr. took to his Instagram Story, where he revealed that they had updated Steve Sr.’s lodge, including his “new home office.”
