The Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s Angela Oakley vowed to “get to the bottom of” new Charles Oakley affair rumors — and she’s wasting no time making good on that promise.
In the above preview clip for the RHOA Season 16 finale (set to air on June 29), Angela reveals that she and Drew Sidora “met with Marcus” — aka the restaurant owner who approached her with new cheating allegations about her husband at Kelli Ferrell’s cooking event — three days before the Charles Oakley Foundation Gala.
A flashback to the sitdown shows Marcus claiming, “Charles has been in my restaurant twice with another woman.” When his employee, who joined them, chimes in to reveal the timeline, Angela immediately calls him “a bad liar.”
As she notes in a confessional, “We picked up on the bulls–t immediately.”
The reason? “My husband was coaching in the Big3 [pro basketball league],” Angela explains. “He was on national television at the time.”
Still, she theorizes that “Marcus didn’t act alone,” cryptically adding, “I know there’s more to the story.”
Angela Oakley discovers who allegedly “paid” Marcus to make Charles Oakley cheating allegations
Previously in Episode 16, Angela revealed to the group at Phaedra Parks’ black glove shopping affair that she’d subsequently “found out” that Marcus “was paid” to be at Kelli’s Williams Sonoma cook-off.
During their finale meeting, she demands of him and his restaurant employee, “You guys need to tell me who put you in that event right now,” offering Marcus the opportunity “to write it” when he initially hesitates.
Though you’ll have to tune in to see whose name he types into the phone, in the sneak peek, Angela struggles to figure out the alleged culprit’s motive.Â
“I just want to know why,” she says in the clip. “What did I do to provoke that type of action from her? But we’ll see.”
Indeed, it appears that Angela and Drew invited Marcus to be a surprise guest at Charles’ charity fundraiser to confront that person with “the truth.”
Angela Oakley reveals Charles Oakley’s reaction to new cheating accusations
In another RHOA finale preview, Angela seeks the advice of her and Charles’ therapist, Dr. Wendy — whom she says “has been instrumental in helping [them] stay married through it all” — on “how to deal with” her husband “and all that comes with him.”Â
Following a discussion of how the debt from her investment properties had put a strain on their marriage, Angela recaps the new infidelity accusations and how Charles reacted to them.
“Afterwards, I told Charles what happened,” she shares. “He was just like, ‘Whatever they’re saying is a lie. Someone put him here.’ It’s like, ‘But you trust me, right?'”
When the counselor asks for her theory on the matter, Angela replies that she “rightfully” didn’t trust Charles in the past.
“But right now, we’re good. I trust him,” she says. “He has proven time and time again, you can trust me.”
In a confessional, Angela elaborates, “After Kelli’s event, Charles and I, we were both confused as to why someone would approach me. … Who would send someone to hurt me and potentially destroy my marriage?”
She continues, “Before, I may have let it ride. Now, I am facing all of the threats head-on because I’m going to protect what I have. I’m in fighting mode now.”
