‘All My Children’ Alum Colin Egglesfield Shares Health Update and What’s Next (Exclusive)

What To Know

  • Colin Egglesfield will run his seventh marathon at the 2026 New York City Marathon, raising support for Cancer Support Community.
  • The three-time cancer survivor gives an update on his health.
  • He opens up about his several upcoming film projects.

The 2026 New York City Marathon isn’t Colin Egglesfield‘s first running rodeo. The November 1 event will mark his seventh marathon, and his second time running the New York City Marathon.

The 53-year-old actor is running on behalf of Cancer Support Community, a charity organization that seeks to provide support for cancer patients and families. Egglesfield is a three-time cancer survivor. He’s had two bouts of testicular cancer and revealed his prostate cancer diagnosis in 2025.

The All My Children alum told TV Insider that he’s “doing great” today. Since his testicular cancer diagnosis, he’s been on hormone replacement therapy and takes testosterone topically every day. After he learned he had prostate cancer, the actor underwent surgery. “That one was a doozy because for six weeks you’re pretty much laid up and have to learn how to go to the bathroom again and the kegel exercises. I know what it’s like now for women when they have kids to have to learn how to go to the bathroom again in terms of strengthening your pelvic floor. It’s a very humbling experience, and I think a lot of people don’t necessarily feel comfortable talking about it because it’s kind of private stuff, and it’s stuff that I think a lot of guys don’t necessarily like to talk about.”

Over a year later, Egglesfield is “pretty much back to normal. I’m healthy. I am cancer-free.”

Once Egglesfield began sharing his cancer journey on social media, he realized that his experience could help others. “Just knowing that there’s people there that are there to support you along the way made the biggest difference for me,” he said regarding the Cancer Support Community. “So, just any way I can give that same type of support back to whoever else is going through the same thing. I know how much it meant to me, and I know how much it means to so many other people.”

The Something Borrowed star stays busy, whether he’s training for a marathon (you find updates and support his fundraiser through his Instagram page), working with the CSC, or filming upcoming projects. Egglesfield just a wrapped production on a film called Butler, which will chronicle the events of the 2024 Trump assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, and is based on a book written by Salena Zito.

“It’s a behind-the-scenes look of what happened on the day of the assassination attempt, and the events that led up to the breakdown in communication between the Secret Service and the local police department,” he noted. Egglesfield has also filmed a horror movie called 213 Bones, where he plays a university professor whose students start getting murdered on campus.

But he’s not stopping there. Mick Skylark: Mini Golf Prodigy just premiered at the Heartland Film Festival in Indianapolis, and Egglesfield calls the movie “a combination of a Happy Gilmore meets Caddyshack type of film.”

When Egglesfield learned of his initial cancer diagnosis, he was playing Josh Madden on All My Children. The soap, which ended in 2013, remains near and dear to his heart. More than a decade after the soap went off the air, All My Children reunion movies are currently in development at Lifetime.

Even though his AMC character was killed off, anything is possible in the world of soaps, so we had to ask if he’d be open to making a cameo of some sort. “Absolutely. I would love to,” he told TV Insider.
