Allie Eklund Tells McBee Dynasty Producer About Past Marriage

Among Allie Eklund’s hesitations amid her fast-moving new relationship with Steven McBee Jr. on The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys Season 3 was the fact that she’d already been married once before — and learned a major lesson in the process.

The subject of Allie’s previous marriage arose in Episode 3 (streaming on Peacock beginning June 30), prompting her to open up to a producer about the whirlwind romance with her ex-husband. At the time, Steven Jr. had floated the idea of Allie moving into his Gallatin, Mo., home with him, just weeks after they started dating.

“This sexy man is like, ‘I want you to live with me,’ and that’s hot, you know?” Allie remarked in a confessional. “He’s a provider man. That is like, that’s biblical, that’s sexy. But then I’m also fighting with my own boundary which was: You’re not gonna live with a man again.”

She went on to elaborate, “My most serious relationship, I moved very quickly. We moved in together and ended up getting married. We were just forcing something that wasn’t there, but neither of us could walk away until it was too late, I guess. It lasted less than a year, and it was one of the hardest things that I’ve ever done.”

As tears welled in her eyes, Allie told a producer, “Sorry, it’s really hard to talk about this.”

Allie Eklund and Steven McBee Jr. discuss their relationship’s “crazy fast” pace

Though Allie initially left Steven Jr. on read when he slid into her DMs, when she finally agreed to meet him in person, it was full speed ahead. Once Allie visited him in Missouri and hit it off with the McBee family, Steven was immediately ready for an engagement. He agreed, however, to wait at least a week, in order to give brother Cole McBee an opportunity to propose to longtime girlfriend Kacie Adkison.

When Allie revealed in the interim that her lease agreement on a New York City apartment “fell through,” Steven took it as a “sign” and asked his new girlfriend to make his house in Gallatin her “home base for a bit.”

“Logically, I know we’re moving crazy fast,” he admitted in a confessional. “In my heart and in what I know, I really don’t think you can put a timeline on chemistry or how well you get along with someone, and Allie and I get along so well. Honestly, I don’t wanna let her out of my sights and let her get away.”

After reiterating to Allie that living together would give them a “head start” on where he was sure their relationship was headed anyway, she responded, “I didn’t see myself living with someone until I was taking the next step with them. At least that was something that I said I was gonna do differently, moving forward in my relationships.”

Regardless, Allie told Steven that moving in with him was definitely something was “willing to think about,” especially considering they’d already discussed their “long-term plans” with each other.

Why Allie Eklund and Steven McBee Jr. hard-launched their relationship on The McBee Dynasty

Allie’s failed marriage came up again later in The McBee Dynasty‘s June 29 episode when she and Steven mutually decided to hard-launch their relationship on social media. The reason? Allie posted an Instagram Story of herself working out in a gym that her followers instantly recognized as unmistakably belonging to the McBees, leaving her feeling backed into a corner to address why she was there.

The prospect of a “public relationship” was something that Allie described as “unfamiliar.” As she shared with Steven, she had not “hard-launched” a relationship in three years. He, on the other hand, said he had “been ready to post since day one.”

“For me, going public opens up a can of worms that you really can’t put back in,” Allie elaborated in a producer interview. “I always said I wasn’t gonna hard-launch until I was walking down the aisle. That’s always what I said, and I even told Steven that.”

She added, “Because of my past relationship, I honestly just wanted to keep my page business oriented and didn’t want to get into that side of my personal life. But at the end of the day, this is a different relationship, Steven’s a different person, and I hope that that works out for us.”
