Although Amanda Batula admitted she “made some poor decisions” as she sat down with Lindsay Hubbard to unpack her bombshell relationship with West Wilson, she also defended her actions during Summer House: The Aftermath.

“Hanging out with [West] and his friends brought out a side of me that I never thought I would see again,” Amanda confessed to Lindsay as they were filmed on May 13, nearly three weeks after the Summer House Season 10 reunion. “Like, this person that wanted to have fun, wanted to go out—like loved life again. Didn’t feel lost, and alone, and scared anymore.”
She explained, “Like, I felt such a euphoric feeling. It was hard to think rationally or logically through any of that.”
Amanda and West confirmed their relationship in their Instagram stories at the end of March, and addressed the matter during the Season 10 reunion. As Amanda and Lindsay spoke during Episode 20, Lindsay admitted she could understand Amanda’s reasoning.
“Listen, there is validity to what you’re saying. Like, we literally have all felt that in different ways, post break-up,” Lindsay conceded, referencing Amanda announcing the end of her marriage to Kyle Cooke in January.
However, Lindsay pushed back against Amanda getting into a relationship with her friend’s ex. “But, that does not excuse going for the one guy that has broken Ciara [Miller]’s heart multiple times, and then got it back, and then broke it, and got it back, and then broke it, and got it back.”

Amanda shed more light into exactly how she developed “feelings” for West during her talk with Lindsay in the June 16 episode.
“I made some poor decisions, but like, I was in such a s—tty relationship,” Amanda admitted of her marriage to Kyle. The end of their ten year relationship dramatically played out during Summer House Season 10 and is currently airing on In The City Season 1.
“Awful,” Amanda continued of her marriage, and described her mental state. “Lost myself completely. Didn’t recognize myself anymore. Was like a shell of myself. I just wasn’t me anymore.”
But she revealed all that changed when she began hanging out with West during the winter and spring. “Going out, like, I felt just like young, and in my 20s, and like fun again,” she shared, and described falling for West. “I think maybe I confused going out with West, and like falling in love with myself again, and like remembering who I am, with like feelings [for West].”

Lindsay pressed Amanda on why she didn’t shut down the idea of a romantic relationship with West as those feelings developed.
“Because I was so selfish. And so focused on, like, my happiness. And, like, feeling good for the first time,” she admitted. “It overwhelmed me, this feeling of just like someone caring about me.” She then clarified she meant “a guy” caring about her.

Just days after Amanda and Lindsay spoke in the June 16 episode, West shared he and Amanda are “doing [their] best” as they continue their relationship. However, he admitted, dealing with the public scrutiny of their relationship has been difficult.
Amanda and West vacationed together in Italy in late May, and attended his cousin’s wedding together. He shared more insight into their relationship during the June 5 episode of his Show Me Something podcast, after it was alleged Amanda paid the check at a restaurant.

“It probably was true,” West acknowledged, but detailed, “I handled the flights and the hotels,” He later added, “I grew up in a house where my family split the f—king bills, you know?”
