Amanda Batula’s Relationship Drama on In The City, Explained

Amanda Batula is preparing to “send it” from Manhattan rather than the Hamptons as she moves from Summer House to In The City this May. On the new series, the end of her marriage to Kyle Cooke is expected to be a big focus.

How to Watch

In The City premieres Tuesday, May 19 at 9/8c on Bravo. Episodes stream next day on Peacock.

“You are going to see drama, crying, fighting,” Amanda revealed during a tease of the show ahead of its premiere on Tuesday, May 19 at 8/7c on Bravo.

Amanda’s bio for In The City further hints at the turmoil in her life, as it states she’s “focusing on finding balance between her personal life and professional ambitions, while the demise of her marriage is front and center.” Elsewhere, in the trailer, a producer asks Amanda what happened with Kyle, and she cryptically responds, “Are you ready for this?”

From there, the sneak peek flashes back to earlier in the fall, with Amanda and West Wilson meeting on a New York City sidewalk. After warmly greeting each other as “Mandy” and “cutie,” respectively, the Summer House castmates share a long embrace.

In separate moments with Kyle, Amanda heatedly asks him, “Who was in our apartment last night while I [was] asleep?” and “Do you know how many times you’ve cheated on me?”

The tension ramps up between the estranged couple when Amanda points out that they “don’t have a prenup,” adding, “But if you come for me, I’ll come for you.”

Kyle’s response? “That would be a losing battle.”

Amanda Batula explains how In The City differs from Summer House

Amanda revealed in January 2026 that In The City focuses on “the next chapter” in the lives of her and her friends.

As she put it, “There’s a lot of couples that are engaged, or in serious relationships, married, with children, where Summer House is a lot more about singles and hookups and partying. So, you’re more so navigating that next chapter and that next phase in life. It’s a little more into adulthood. Not too much.”

Amanda also shared that it’s “a whole different concept” from Summer House, and added that her relationship with Kyle isn’t the only focus. “It’s not the partying and the Hamptons that you’re used to,” she said during an appearance on the podcast Trading Secrets on March 9. “It’s a lot more relationship based, which is you were only getting mine and Kyle’s relationship for a very long time on Summer House, and now you’re getting a ton of relationships.”

A timeline of Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke’s relationship issues on Summer House Season 10

As fans are surely aware, In The City was filmed directly out of Summer House Season 10, following months of what Kyle called “red flags” in his marriage. That included an outburst from Kyle towards Amanda, followed by an emotional conversation between Amanda and West about her marriage, in which she stated, “I know I’m not perfect, but I’ve literally been dealing with this for over 10 years. Isn’t that crazy? Like, there is a part of me that’s, like, this is the best I’m ever gonna do.”

By the April 7 episode of Summer House, Kyle and Amanda had agreed to go to couples therapy to try and save their relationship.

Amanda shared more of the timeline for her divorce from Kyle during her Feb. 3 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, confirming the two began living separately in October or November, “just before” attending BravoCon 2025.

She also revealed more about her relationship with her now estranged husband around the time of filming In The City. “The plan was to date each other, work on our relationship, and take some space,” she explained of her move out during an interview with Marie Claire. “But, the space made us realize, well, maybe we want more space; that the separation should be permanent.”

The couple later publicly confirmed in January 2026 they were going their separate ways, after four years of marriage.
