American Rapist and Murderer Sentenced to Life in Prison in Attack on 2 American Tourists Near Germany’s ‘Cinderella’ Castle – Crime Online

A US citizen has been convicted of murder, attempted murder, and rape in an attack on two American women at Germany’s famed Neuschwanstein castle last summer and sentenced to life in prison.

German law prevents authorities from identifying perpetrators and victims in such cases, but family and friends identified the victims as 21-year-old Eva Liu, who died when the killer shoved her into a ravine, and 22-year-old Kelsey Chang, who survived being pushed into the ravine, the Associated Press reported.

CrimeOnline previously reported that the suspect, 31-year-old Troy Bohling, met the two women on a hiking trail near the castle and lured them away under the guise of showing them a good spot for selfies. But instead, as Bohling admitted last month, he shoved Chang into the 165-foot deep ravine and pushed Liu to the ground to rape her — while filming the attack. The assault was interrupted when another group of hikers came upon, and Bohling threw Liu into the ravine.

Liu was airlifted to a hospital but died that night.

All three — the suspect and the victims — were from Illinois but didn’t know one another.

The Associated Press said the rapist and murderer won’t be eligible for parole for 15 years.
