From “Detective Doute” to “Crazy Kristen,” The Valley‘s Kristen Doute has played many roles over the years, and Andy Cohen just added a stunning new title to the collection.
“I have to say, you may have been the voice of reason this season,” he declared on The Valley Season 2 Reunion Part 1, to which the self-described “empath” playfully replied, “Who would’ve thunk?”
Then in an unseen moment from Peacock’s extended version of the reunion, Brittany Cartwright noted that “growth” is actually Kristen’s “favorite word” right now.
When the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host went so far as to suggest that “Crazy Kristen might truly be retired,” however, the new mom reeled him in a bit, joking, “There’s still, like, some, but it’s, like, a different kind of crazy.”
Why Kristen Doute apologized to Janet Caperna at The Valley reunion
Andy went on to ask how the evolution made Kristen feel, prompting her to address one heated exchange with Janet Caperna she was “not proud of” that occurred during her post-engagement Hawaiian boat cruise.
“If I can just start this off with an apology to Janet for just the crap that was flying out of my mouth,” she said. “That was just so not my best moment.”
Noting the “decibels of [her] voice” and her “high-pitched screaming” during the argument, she continued, “I looked at Luke [Broderick] right after we watched it, and I said, ‘Was that crazy?’ And he goes, ‘Yeah, kinda.’ I was like, ‘Thank you for your honesty. OK, note to self.'”

Despite their “ups and downs,” Janet, for her part, responded by saying she appreciated the apology, and, later, returned the kind gesture when Andy asked her to predict how Kristen, who was just more than 33 weeks pregnant at the time the reunion filmed, might be as a mom.
“I think she’s gonna be a great mom,” Janet said. “She’s the best dog mom in the world, and that, I think, is the first big test, you know, of taking care of something and loving something. And I think she’s gonna do a great job.”
Kristen Doute reflects on her fertility journey and pregnancy on The Valley reunion
Some of The Valley cast attributed Kristen’s newfound “voice of reason” role to the fact she was about to become a mother. (She and Luke welcomed their first child, a daughter named Kaia Lily, in June, a bit more than a month after the Season 2 reunion filmed.)
“Don’t stress me out; my water could break,” she joked.
Kristen also took the opportunity to revisit the fertility journey she documented on the show and also brought viewers up to speed on how her pregnancy had gone, post-filming.
“Now that I’m near the end, I’m like, it’s gonna be so strange to not be pregnant,” Kristen, who found out she was expecting about two weeks after filming wrapped, shared. “I feel like I’ve been pregnant forever. But watching back the episodes, it was really difficult, like, seeing how distraught we were. And then I just feel so lucky.”
When Andy asked what she thought eventually “helped” her get pregnant, she credited “the hormones, for sure,” adding, “Then, the decision to do IUI came really at the last minute. It was just an extra, like, 10 percent chance it would help us. So, we decided … why not?”
As for Kristen’s “moods” throughout her pregnancy, Luke admitted that the “first trimester wasn’t fun,” while his fiancée more bluntly described the time period as “absolute hell.” Kristen also stated that she only had “a good 10 weeks” total, somewhere in the middle of her pregnancy.
Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick reveal a wedding update at The Valley reunion
Following Luke’s sunset proposal in Hawaii, Andy also asked for an update on wedding planning, but Kristen admitted that they’re “nowhere near” ready to tie the knot.
“Not ’til after the baby,” she elaborated.

Luke, for his part, explained, “We wanna enjoy being engaged, too. We haven’t gotten to do that.”
Brittany, meanwhile, chimed in that Kristen “never talks about it, honestly,” while Zack Wickham further pointed out, “She hates stuff like that.”
