Mary Cosby and Angie Katsanevas’ friendship has weathered some major ups and downs on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City over the years, and Season 7 has been no different.Â
On Episode 8 of RHOSLC, Mary called Angie a “bad friend,” before also accusing her of prioritizing self-care over parenting her daughter, Elektra, 15. As the argument quickly escalated, Angie mentioned Mary’s late son, Robert Jr., who died in February at the start of filming. Though Angie tearfully insisted that she “didn’t mean what [she] said,” Mary rejected her explanation attempts, declaring that she didn’t want to look at her ever again.
During Angie’s Nov. 4 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen following the episode, she reflected on their friendship and said they were in a “difficult place” at the time, before going on to express her deep regrets for how everything played out on the show (more on that below).

Are Mary Cosby and Angie Katsanevas still friends?
Angie said on WWHL‘s Nov. 4 episode, “I love Mary with all my heart,” though it’s currently unclear if the two ever repaired their friendship during or after filming. Either way, Angie added that their RHOSLC argument was “hard to watch.”
“I feel like I’ve been there for her,” Angie explained to host Andy Cohen. “And when the thing that matters to me most, which is my daughter, Elektra, and my parenting got brought up, I was not speaking, obviously, from my mind, but just coming from a place of pain, you know? I was very emotional.”
She continued, “I think I’ve tempered myself. I have not always told Mary how I feel about some of her comments towards me, and with that, I have to take accountability that I’ve really cultivated this relationship with her where I haven’t always been honest about some of her feedback. And it has hurt me.”
Further revisiting their argument, Angie concluded, “Elektra being brought up, I hit my breaking point. And I deeply regret it, obviously. I never would want to hurt Mary. There’s no excuse. And it’s nothing I can take back, and that’s the hardest thing about it, because I do love her.”

When did Mary Cosby and Angie Katsanevas become friends?
Though Mary famously asked, “Who’s Angie?” during RHOSLC Season 4, the two had formed an unlikely friendship by the time Season 5 premiered in September 2024, even showing up to an event together with matching purses. “She gained my trust, and I can’t really tell you where it happened,” Mary remarked in a confessional, at the time. Angie, meanwhile, said that she and Mary became “besties” after she warned her that she had lipstick on her teeth at the Season 4 reunion.
After their bonding moment at the cast sit-down in November 2023, Mary invited Angie to join her at Kathy Hilton’s annual holiday party in Beverly Hills, marking a major turning point in their relationship.
A timeline of Mary Cosby and Angie Katsanevas’ friendship drama
Mary did not exactly welcome Angie to RHOSLC with open arms, however, even going so far as to tell her not to talk to her while sitting poolside during the Season 4 cast trip to Palm Springs. Appearing on WWHL in October 2023, Angie said she and Mary still weren’t friends, at that point.
“I did my best. I tried. I tried multiple times through the season,” Angie previously said on WWHL. “I didn’t really feel like I made any headway with Mary.” A bit later in the episode, she added, “I did my best, and I’m pulling back. … I don’t know how to connect with Mary.”
As mentioned, that all changed roughly a month later. After sharing their newfound close bond with viewers during Season 5, Mary and Angie’s friendship hit a snag while filming Season 6. From Mary’s perspective, seeing how Angie was navigating her drama with Lisa Barlow had caused her to question who she really was.
“How are you allowing someone to get you that mad to the point it’s affecting our friendship?” Mary asked. “That’s where the problem is. You get so caught up into something that’s so not important. Then, I don’t even exist.”
In a more lighthearted moment from Season 6, Mary said she was also upset because she believed Angie had accused her of passing gas and blaming it on her dog. However, the two quickly made up and were able to move on from the drama.
Fast-forward to Season 7, and Angie’s primary concern was supporting Mary in the aftermath of Robert Jr.’s death. That’s why she chose to keep her marriage troubles with husband Shawn Trujillo to herself, though Mary could tell something was going on with Angie behind the scenes that she wasn’t talking about. As Angie eventually clashed with several of their RHOSLC castmates, Mary eventually called her out for being in the wrong, sparking the recent disagreement that left their friendship in jeopardy.

How Mary Cosby and Angie Katsanevas overcame their past feuds
In an exclusive September 2025 interview with Bravo Insider, Angie opened up about how she and Mary overcame their friendship issues from Season 6. “Mary and I move on. We’re like sisters,” she said. “We’re both honest and real. We don’t have any kind of a dark history; we’ve just always been on a positive path. I feel like she knows I love her and she loves me.”
Angie added, “I think we both speak our mind, and it, at times, causes rifts … When you’re honest about how you really feel, there’s going to be conflict. … I think relationships grow from that. And you gain more respect, you know?”
