‘Armed and dangerous’ Georgia Man on the Run After Police Find His Wife Dead in Home – Crime Online

Police in Georgia are searching for a murder suspect following the discovery of a deceased woman Tuesday, inside a Coweta County residence.

Fox 5 reports that police are searching Dustin Allen Phillips after finding a woman dead inside a home off Halo Trace. An active felony murder warrant was issued for Phillips’ arrest on Tuesday, according to Sgt. Toby Nix with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office.

The Newnan Times-Herald identified the victim as Vennessa Lynn Phillips, a 35-year-old mother of two children.

Police warned that Phillips is considered armed and dangerous. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Marshals, and Criminal Investigations Unit are currently assisting in the search.

The victim’s brother, Jeyson Brooks, told the Herald that the couple had been having issues due to Dustin Phillips’ alleged drug use.

“She gave (Dustin) so many chances to be a better husband, father and human but he was so caught up in drugs and doing whatever he wanted,” Brooks said. “He’s the most selfish person I’ve ever come across (in) my entire life.”

“For her, (Dustin) was a bad habit, and she didn’t want to give up on him. She’d given him so many chances because she had such a hopeful heart. She never wanted to give up and tried so hard.”

Police added that the suspect could possibly be in the area of Allison Lane and Highway 154. The public should avoid the area at this time.

Anyone with information on Dustin Phillips’ whereabouts should contact Coweta police at 770-254-3911 or call 911.
