“Two things are abundantly clear to us. You all bring such great energy to your jobs. And two, it’s clear you’ve never worked together before,” primary guest Christina Haisfield commented during Below Deck’s Oct. 19 episode.

Christina also offered a compliment to new chef Moe Vilomar during Episode 2, however, as she added, “That being said, the food—no notes. Like, wow.”

Christina’s harsh commentary left the crew stunned, and chief stew Fraser Olender turned to look at the crew once they were all alone. “What the f—k was that about?” he asked, and seemingly received no answer. To producers, he joked, “What a shady bitch!”

Later, Captain Kerry Titheradge admitted unsatisfied guests may have played into their first tip. “Our very first tip, we could have done way better, and we will do way better,” he told the crew as he handed out $25,000.

Why the Below Deck Season 13 guests complained about the crew in the first charter

Although Fraser and the crew seemed in the dark about what may have upset the guests during the first charter, cameras captured a few moments where interior service was slow or non-existent, including a request for chips that left the guests still waiting for more than an hour, before eventually not receiving the food at all.

A second service incident occurred during the Oct. 19 episode, as the guests asked stew Kaylee Brown for juices. After 22 minutes, the guests pestered Fraser for a status update, and when he inquired, Kaylee estimated ten more minutes.

“As soon as something’s ready, it needs to go out, because they haven’t had any of their juices,” he reminded her.

As the guests continued to complain amongst themselves, producers noted at the 27 minute mark, Kaylee was still trying to make juice, and commented, “This juicer f—king sucks!” After 37 minutes, cameras captured chef Moe attempting to examine the juicer and help Kaylee, but he remained stumped, and ruled, “Damn, I don’t know, dude.” The guests did eventually receive their juice.

Below Deck Season 13 trailer teases challenging guests to come

If the Below Deck Season 13 trailer is any indication, the first charter guests may have let the Azul V crew off easy. Captain Kerry notes, “The guests have high expectations, and so do I.”

Although he predicts a “hectic” season, he feels that his crew is up to task. “Every single one of you is here for a good reason,” he says. “Most yacht crew can’t do what we do.”

Later in the trailer, a guest calls out a member of the interior team, pointing out that she “brought nothing to Papa.” Another guest tells chef Moe she’s going to stick her chopsticks in her own eyes.

And in the preview for Episode 3 airing Oct. 26, Fraser declares, “This is a very lengthy preference sheet,” spelling possible trouble for chef Moe. Meanwhile a guest asks, “These are the nicest wineglasses we have here?” prompting Fraser to comment, “This is a nightmare.”

ICYMI, Captain Kerry warned the crew about “dangers” looming in Thailand. Read why he told them to “be aware.”
