Brian Walshe: Husband of Missing Mom Ana Walshe Dismembered Her with Hacksaw, Prosecutors Say

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Ana, 37, was last seen by a family member in her Cohasset apartment between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. on January 1, according to Cohasset police Chief William Quigley.

Her husband, Brian Walshe, was initially arrested for hindering a missing person investigation after police said he lied about his whereabouts on New Year’s Day and the day after.

According to court documents, Brian Walshe told police that she left home on January 1 to travel to Washington, D.C., where she works. He allegedly claimed she took an Uber or Lyft from home to the airport; however, prosecutors said there is no evidence of her leaving home that day.

Earlier this week, police obtained enough information to arrest him for murder. During his court appearance Wednesday, Norfolk County Assistant District Attorney Lynn Beland read out the evidence obtained during the investigation into Ana’s disappearance.

“Rather than divorce, Brian Walshe dismembered Ana Walshe and discarded her body,”  Beland said.

The arrest affidavit indicated that someone used the iPad belonging to one of Ana’s sons and searched for, in part, the following on January 1 and January 2:

Additional evidence, so far, according to prosecutors, includes blood found in the Walshe family’s basement, a bent knife with blood on it, and security footage of Brian Walshe making a trip to a hardware store on January 2, where he purchased over $400 in cleaning supplies.

Prosecutors said a hacksaw and a rug with blood on it, were found at a transfer station in Peabody, around 45 miles from the Walshe’s residence.

Meanwhile, Ana remains missing, and the Department of Children and Families now has custody of the couple’s three children.
