Captain Sandy Yawn is meeting her newest deckie—and he’s liable to adorably fall asleep on the job. Bosun Nathan Gallagher and his girlfriend, Gael Cameron, introduce the captain to their son, Kayden, for the first time in the above preview of Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11, Episode 2 (airing Monday, June 15 at 8/7c on Bravo).
“We have a new worker for you!” Gael announces of their arrival in the bridge. “Oh my god, can I hold him?” Sandy asks, and notes he’s wearing the onesie she gifted with the M/Y Akira One logo. As she snuggles him onto her shoulder, she and the beaming new parents smile. She then asks Kayden, “You wanna drive the boat?”
To producers, Sandy shares her pride that the family’s story started right on Below Deck Mediterranean. “That happened on our boat,” she points out.
You’ll recall that although Gael and Nathan first met as deckhands during Below Deck Med Season 9 and dated, they broke up, before rekindling a relationship after Gael filled in as a temporary deckhand during Season 10.
Sandy later adds of Nathan and Gael’s love story in the preview, “In my career, there have been three people who have married and had children. Maybe I’m a cupid captain. Maybe.”
While Nathan is a bosun under Sandy, he and Gael made a big change to this charter season: Gael and Kayden temporarily relocated with Nathan to Dubrovnik, Croatia, and secured housing just minutes away from where Akira One is docked.
“I’m happy that you’re able to come here,” Sandy tells Gael in the preview.
Gael answers, “I’m just happy that he doesn’t have to be away from [Kayden] for six weeks. Really appreciate you as well.”
Nathan previously admitted during the June 8 premiere that balancing his work and family life during the charter season was going to be tough.

“I do know it’s going to be difficult,” he confessed to producers. “Listen, I’m still trying to find my feet in the bosun role. And I’m also just trying to find my feet in this new dad role. I want to be a good partner. I mean, moral of the story is, ‘I feel f—king pressure.’”
During the preview, Nathan and Gael also take Kayden to meet the rest of the crew, and they admire his smile and cheeks. Kayden is such a charmer, stew Gen Lillie even quips, “Oh my god, I want to get knocked up now.”
What happened when Joe Bradley met Nathan Gallagher’s baby boy
Although Nathan and deckhand Joe Bradley once had a strong “bromance,” tensions are now high between them at the start of Season 10—making Joe’s encounter with Nathan’s son even more awkward in the above preview.
“Hello,” Joe coos at Kayden, as he runs into Nathan and Gael on deck. He stops to gaze at the baby for a moment, getting down on his level. Despite his brewing feud with Nathan, Joe puts his hand on Nathan’s shoulder, and the two smile at each other for a moment.
It was a sentimental moment ahead of what promises to be a dramatic season for the former BFFs. In the season premiere, Nathan admitted he hadn’t read any of Joe’s messages to him between seasons, adding, “I just didn’t see the need for it.”
Their tension stems from Nathan’s feelings about Joe’s past behavior and love triangle with former crewmates Kizzi Kitchener and Victoria “V” SanJuan.
Nathan Gallagher and Gael Cameron give updates on son Kayden
Since Nathan and Gael announced in June 2025 that they had welcomed Kayden, the pair has shared numerous sweet updates on their baby boy. Just some of the special moments include swim lessons, his first holiday season, and some recent developmental milestones.
