Exploring ‘Dele Alli Faces More Rejection As Everton Set To Miss Out On Pocketing From Two Clauses’ “I do have great empathy for the trajectory of his career in a sense because it is clear to see. I don’t have to dress that up in any way,” the Chelsea icon said of Alli in August.
“Having worked closely with him for a period I have to say he really does need to understand the relation of training and focus to what that means to perform at the highest level.
Dele Alli Faces More Rejection As Everton Set To Miss Out On Pocketing From Two Clauses
Everton could be set to lose out on selling Dele Alli permanently with loan club Besiktas unimpressed by the former England star’s performances, according to reports. Alli is with the Turkish outfit on a season-long loan but has failed to rediscover his form.
Once the cream of English football, Alli has so far failed to live up to his supreme potential. Tottenham sold the midfielder to Everton in January, but he made just 13 appearances for the Toffees before being sent to Besiktas in August.
The 26-year-old has scored just twice for his loan club this season and boss Senol Gunes recently revealed that he was unimpressed by the player. Alli has failed to play a full 90 minutes in the Turkish SuperLig.
Besiktas have two options to buy Alli permanently from Everton. They can purchase him for £5.2million in January, or wait until the summer to pay £6.9m.
“It’s not just the Dele story, I would say that to any player because it’s the only thing I know. I wasn’t a saint, but I know what training can do and focus can do, and that’s something he really has to take on board.
“If he can, it can be not just a great thing for him but for the team-mates around him in the squad. He’s at that point. That is the test for him now.”
