AFL star Joel Selwood and Brit Davis are starting a new chapter in their lives as the pair expect their first child.

The Geelong skipper & his partner are happy with their efforts being paid, after struggling with infertility for years. Their first kid is on the way for the pair.

The couple used social media to advise other couples who could face such issues becoming pregnant. Brit, a stunning special needs teacher, shared the fantastic news on Instagram.

After sharing a picture of herself & Joel clutching a baby-sized Geelong jersey with the words “Dad” & Selwood’s number 14 printed on it, Brit attracted attention on social media.

In a photo she shared from a pregnancy session, Joel is holding a little football shirt with his player number and the word “dad” embroidered across the back. She said their aspirations were finally realized after years of fertility problems, and she voiced her sympathy for other couples going through a similar circumstance.

Joel Selwood’s wife, Brit Davis, is a familiar face in the media. Professionally, she is a model and a special education teacher before she entered modeling.

Davis is a Melbourne native who holds a bachelor’s degree in education. She worked part-time as a teacher at the Barwon Valley School, a special education institution in Belmont, Australia.

She aspires to work as a teacher full-time in the future. But as she waits for the arrival of her first kid, she is concentrating her energies on modeling.

Similarly, a lovely pair, Joel and Brit, were picked as the 2016 Australian Grand Prix Ambassadors. She has furthermore posed for the Australian apparel company Manning Cartell.

Joel Selwood and Brit Davis held their wedding on a gorgeous private estate outside of Geelong, Victoria in 2020.

The event was planned by wedding planner Laura Harvey which was a memorable ceremony for many. Joel’s team member Patrick Dangerfield was also present during the marriage.

Following their initial introduction through mutual acquaintances, Brit and Joel began dating in 2015. In August 2018, they made an engagement announcement. The couple also shared a selection of photos from their private wedding, where they were accompanied by loved ones and friends.

The stunning bride, Brit, wore two dresses: a bridal gown by Elie Saab and a cocktail dress by Paolo Sebastian. Joel, an AFL player, was dressed in Hugo Boss attire. The AFL celebrity couple spent their honeymoon at the $2,100 per night Saffire Freycinet resort on Tasmania’s east coast.

Joel Selwood was born to his parents Bryce And Maree Selwood on May 26, 1988, in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia.

He was raised in a sporting household where his mother excelled in tennis & running, while elder twins Adam & Troy were early football talent spotters.

Maree, Joel’s mother, was given the “2005 AFL Players Association Mother of the Year Award” for her contributions to football via each of her kids.

Selwood had to wear leg splints as a toddler to aid in his recovery from a walking impairment. But, he showed initial success as an athlete. He held every running and jumping record at the Bendigo Sports Center in a year, except the 100-meter sprint & he was the state hurdling champion from under-10s through under-15s.

Joel Selwood is the third of the four kids born to Bryce and Maree Selwood. His twin brothers, Adam, & Troy, were born on May 1, 1984, & combined to play 187 games. Scott, his younger brother, is two years younger than the Geelong FC star. 

His other brother Scott played for the West Coast Eagles and Geelong Football Club in the Australian Football League. He received the John Worsfold Medal in 2012 while playing with the Eagles. In the second part of the 2014 season, Selwood served as one of the club’s five acting captains following the resignation of then-captain Darren Glass.

After transferring to Geelong via free agency following the 2015 season, Scott played with his brother Joel Selwood, who is currently the captain of the team, for a further four seasons.

Joel was used to competing against and playing with bigger teammates because he had older siblings. At the age of eight, he played in his first competitive football game against children four years older than him and kicked three goals.

All of his brothers have decided to play AFL football professionally. However, out of his three siblings, only Selwood is still actively playing.
