Nashville, Tennessee – Dolly Parton‘s niece Lainey Parton just got a touching new tattoo tribute to honor her dear departed “Granny.”
On Tuesday, Lainey posted a photo of herself with tattoo artist Justin Harless.
“About a year ago, I met Justin at my aunt’s distillery, @shinegirlspirits,” she wrote in the caption.
“I never could’ve imagined that a year later he’d be gifting me a tattoo in honor of my granny,” Lainey continued.

“This tattoo means so much more to me than just another piece of ink. It’s something I’ll carry with me forever and a little reminder of my granny that I’ll always have with me.”
The photo shows what the new ink says – a note reading “Love you, Granny” in what seems to be Dolly’s own handwriting.
Lainey thanked the tattoo artist for lending his talents, adding that “this is something I’ll cherish forever.”
People in the comments section piped in to voice their support for the young woman and her family during this difficult time of mourning after Dolly’s tragic death a week ago.
“I love it. And I love how we’re finding out that she was a grandma to so many of her family,” wrote one user. “People had always said she never had kids but boy were they wrong.”
