Dolores Catania’s house, which she shares with her boyfriend Paulie Connell, was the target of a recent home invasion. The Real Housewives of New Jersey mom of two recently recounted the scary incident that took place while neither of them was at their New Jersey home.
Dolores appeared on Jeff Lewis Live! on Monday, Oct. 6, where she recounted the incident that occurred while they were traveling. “Paul had his phone off, and he was performing for everyone there,” Dolores said, according to Page Six. “He was drinking tequila. And my phone was going off, and I saw it was his son.”
Dolores then answered the phone, where one of Paulie’s two sons revealed that their house “just got broken into.” Dolores was “startled” by the news. And Paulie admitted, on the radio show, that the situation was “pretty bad.”
She revealed that the intruders used a “blow torch” to break a window, without setting off an alarm. “It’s a new thing that [intruders are] doing,” Paulie explained. “[I] have a glass-break sensor that only goes off when the pitch is high, but when you heat it, it shatters without cracking, and then you just push it through with your hand and walk in.”
The couple explained that the house has an “insane” security system that informed law enforcement of the intruder, and makes a sound, so the intruders left immediately after breaking in. “By the time they left and the cops got there, it was 20 seconds,” Paulie said, admitting that they had only been in the house for a minute, after they spent eight minutes trying to get in.
Dolores Catania reveals the lesson she learned from the home invasion
Dolores continued on the radio show, admitting that she learned a big lesson from the break-in. “We all love to post when we’re out and we’re away,” she said, admitting that Paul had posted that day that they were away from New Jersey. “And that night, we got broken into.”

Paulie chimed in, noting that he would never post their whereabouts again, in real time. “First and last time,” he said. “Lesson learned.”
Would Dolores Catania and Paulie Connell move from their current house?
Dolores spoke with The Daily Dish in November 2024, where she revealed that they have “look[ed] at houses here and there.” But, Dolores, who permanently moved into the house owned by Paulie in 2023, admitted that she loved their shared space. “But honestly, I’m starting to get used to it here,” she said.
