Dorit Kemsley is opening up about her financial situation amid her divorce from Paul “PK” Kemsley. During The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 15, Dorit had come under the microscope for “spending too much money” on a trip to the Hamptons. And now she’s clearing the air on her finances as she navigates a new chapter in her life and career.
Dorit spoke with Extra in May, where she denied “spending $1 million on clothes and travel.” “Do I love fashion? Yes. Do I spend a lot of money on clothes? Expensive clothes? Designer clothes? Yes,” Dorit admitted in a clip posted to Instagram on May 21. “It is my choice. It is also my money.”
“It’s my money that I earn, that I work for. Not his money,” she said, referring to PK.Â
She continued, noting that she was “blindsided” by PK not paying the mortgage on her home. Â “PK and I had an agreement when we separated, and you follow that agreement. And when there’s no communication, you’re expecting that things are status quo. And with the children, and even spending, you spend what you’re planning, and so I didn’t plan for the mortgage not being paid. And it was never brought to my attention,” she added.

She also spoke with Entertainment Tonight, where she continued to open up about her own spending habits. “Obviously, I work. And everything that I buy, everything that I spend, is money I’ve earned,” she explained in a clip posted to Instagram on May 24. “It’s my choice. It’s my money.”
Although she admitted that she would like to sell her house, which she said is in her name, she is unable to do so. “That’s what I would love to do,” she continued. “When you’re not having communication, it’s difficult to move forward.”

Dorit Kemsley opens up about her latest career move and memoir release
Dorit has been hard at work, as she is currently on tour for her memoir, Unburdened, which was released on June 2. She took to Instagram earlier this week, where she posted a video of the line of fans waiting to see her from the LA stop of her tour, where she signed books. “Yesterday was a day I’ll never forget,” she wrote.
She continued, noting that the first stop on her book tour was “emotional.” “To everyone who stood in line, shared your stories, gave hugs, shed tears, and celebrated this moment with me, thank you from the bottom of my heart,” she explained. “This book was written from one of the most vulnerable places in my life, and to feel it received with so much love means more than I can put into words.”
