Even though Erika Jayne tends to be tight-lipped about her boyfriend, John McPhee, she revealed more details than ever about their relationship during Part 1 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 15 reunion.
After confirming that she and John had been together for roughly nine months when the RHOBH reunion was filmed, Erika beamed as she updated host Andy Cohen about how their romance had been a “nice” change of pace for her.
Even as fond as she is of John, Erika claimed that her adult son, Tommy Zizzo, might have been even more enamored by him after she introduced them to each other.

“Oh my God, you’re talking to, like, the ultimate G.I. Joe,” Erika spilled, referring to John’s military background as a sergeant major in the U.S. Army’s special forces. “My son’s probably more in love with this man than I could ever be.” (As you might recall, Tommy works as a police officer in Los Angeles.)
Meanwhile, Kyle Richards, who happened to be the only RHOBH cast member that Erika had told about her new relationship prior to unexpected paparazzi photos confirming the news publicly, joked, “Let’s call him G.I. John instead of Shrek.”
How Erika Jayne’s past experience impacted her relationship with John McPhee
During a candid conversation with Denise Richards in Season 15, Erika shared details of an abusive relationship she was in following her separation from Tom Girardi. After she reflected on that powerful RHOBH moment at the reunion, Andy referred to her decision to share her story on camera as “brave” before asking how the domestic violence incident had “impacted” who she is in her current relationship with John.
“I really enjoy the man that I’m dating,” Erika answered. “And so, I don’t have those same concerns.”

When Rachel Zoe noted that Erika seemed to “feel safe” with John, she confirmed, “I do.”
In wrapping up the topic, the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host summarized that “things seem to be going well,” to which Erika happily replied, “Day by day. Day by day.”
More details on Erika Jayne and John McPhee’s relationship today
During RHOBH‘s Season 15 finale, Erika decided to “hard launch” her new relationship by introducing John as her “official man-friend” to Kyle, Amanda Frances, and Natalie Swanston Fuller, via FaceTime. Immediately afterward, she underscored to Kyle how doing so was a “big f–king deal” for her.
“I feel very safe when I am with John, in the sense that there is no pretending or trying,” Erika dished in a confessional. “Everything softens, and I’m allowed to soften as well. You know, I lived with Tom for 20 years, and I swear to God, I was walking on ice every day. So, this is like a nice, peaceful rest.”
The same night that the finale aired, Erika also shared more insight on the bond between John and her son, Tommy, during an appearance on WWHL.
“My son is well. He was just at the house,” Erika told Andy during his show’s April 16 episode. “The three of us, the other day, we were eating; we were grilling. He loves John. … That whole law enforcement thing.”
Months earlier, Erika made similar comments in a late 2025 interview with BravoTV.com, while exclusively revealing that Tommy had met John and that the introduction “went well.”
“You know, John’s a hero to many … John is an intimidating guy, so yeah,” Erika said. “It went beautifully.”
