According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, Kirk’s deal would allow him to call games on both ESPN and its parent company, ABC.

Because of this, Amazon jumped in to get Herbstreit’s services as its chief analyst.

The contract’s phrasing might have resulted in some unclear legal standing. The contract does not appear to be an issue now that the deal has apparently been completed.

The term of his Amazon contract has not been disclosed, although the NFL’s “Thursday Night Football” pact with Amazon goes until the 2033 season. He is allegedly paid $10 million per year for his new Amazon Prime arrangement.

Before joining Amazon, Kirk called his first NFL game with Chris Fowler in 2020. 

According to Celebritynetworth, Kirk Herbstreit’s net worth is estimated to be $14 million.

The commentator earned a maximum salary of $2 million during his tenure at ESPN. When Kirk joined Amazon, his compensation was increased to $4 million.

He joined ESPN in 1996 and has subsequently risen through the ranks to become the primary commentator on College GameDay. Herbstreit is an analyst for ABC’s primetime Saturday college football games.

He was shortlisted for a Sports Emmy Award in 1997 as television’s finest studio analyst, and he penned a weekly in-season piece for The Sporting News called “Inside The Game With Kirk Herbstreit.”

He has served as a color commentator for ESPN’s Thursday Night college football games and is a frequent contributor to ESPN.com and ESPN The Magazine. He appeared as a panelist on Who’s Now in July 2007.

Kirk contributes to ESPN Radio station 97.1 The Fan in Columbus, Ohio.

He was confirmed to replace Jon Gruden for night one of ESPN’s NFL Draft coverage in 2018, after Gruden left to return to the then-Oakland Raiders, now the Las Vegas Raiders. The analyst joined his GameDay colleagues in moving to ABC’s coverage of the first two nights of the Draft.

The TV personality was named the new color commentator for Thursday Night Football on Prime Video on March 23, 2022. 

Kirk Herbstreit attended Centerville High School in Centerville, Ohio, a Dayton suburb. As a senior quarterback for the Elks, Kirk was named Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year.

Herbstreit was also an outstanding basketball and baseball player.

The footballer was the first athlete to sign with the Ohio State Buckeyes when John Cooper was hired as head coach in 1988. From 1989 through 1993, he was a four-year letter winner at Ohio State University as a quarterback.

He led the Buckeyes as a senior in 1992 after waiting his time as a starter behind Kent Graham and Greg Frey.

The athlete took over as team captain as a senior in 1992. Kirk was a co-captain and team MVP that year.

He threw for 1,904 yards that season, including four 200-yard games, before falling in the Florida Citrus Bowl against the Georgia Bulldogs. In a 13-13 draw with Michigan in 1992, he established the Ohio State record for most pass completions (28) and threw for 271 yards. 

Jim Herbstreit was born in Cincinnati on February 17, 1939, and deceased on March 17, 2016.

Kirk’s father had lived in Highland Heights for 6 months, previously in Chagrin Falls. He received his high school diploma in 1956 and his bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University in 1960.

His father was a three-year letter winner at Ohio State, a defensive back, playing running back, and special teams. Jim formerly coached football at The Miami of Ohio, Ohio State University, and Akron University.

In addition, the former coach served as the Executive Vice President of Sabre System in Dayton, Ohio. Jim enjoyed tennis, gardening, and cooking. 

His father was a co-captain of the 1960 Ohio State team and subsequently an assistant coach at Ohio State under Woody Hayes. When Kirk was appointed co-captain in 1992, Jim and his son became just the second father-son tandem to be Ohio State captains.

Kirk, like his father, graduated from Ohio State with a degree in Business Administration in 1993.

Allison Butler, Kirk Herbstreit’s wife, went to Ohio State University. In high school, Allison was a member of the Ohio State cheering squad. She found her life partner, Kirk at the University.

In 1998, the pair got married and Butler had never been in a relationship before meeting Herbstreit.

Nashville, Tennessee is where the Herbstreit family resides. Herbstreit’s family used to reside in Ohio until moving away in 2011 after an Ohio Stae fan accused Kirk of disparaging his alma university. It grew so terrible that the family was forced to flee.

Allison has been a good wife to Kirk, and the pundit credits his wife for his success up to this point.

Kirk is motivated by his family, and Allison has played an important part in his life.

They have been married for nearly 21 years and continue to love and care for one another. There is no word of their divorce yet, and they are content to pick one other as their life partner.

Allison and Kirk are also blessed with four boys. Tye and Jake Herbstreit, twin brothers born in 2000, are the oldest. Zak, the third son, was born in 2003. After the advent of the fourth son Chase in 2006, the family grew even larger.

The analyst’s boys are also athletes who play on school football teams. So they must have been motivated by their father.

The oldest two, Tye and Jake, played for the Montgomery Bell Academy Clemson Tigers football team. Jake, on the other hand, concluded his football career by departing the program in June 2021.

Zak, the third kid, is a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Their third son also attended Nashville’s Montgomery Bell Academy and had scholarship offers from Dayton, Tennessee Tech, and the University of Tennessee-Martin.

However, Zak picked Ohio State University, where his father previously studied. Chase, Kirk’s youngest son, is a quarterback at St. Xavier High School.

Their youngest son made a brief appearance on the set of ESPN’s College GameDay.
