Kirk Herbstreit Has An Annual Salary Of $10 Million From Amazon Prime Contract

According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, Kirk’s deal would allow him to call games on both ESPN and its parent company, ABC.

Because of this, Amazon jumped in to get Herbstreit’s services as its chief analyst.

The contract’s phrasing might have resulted in some unclear legal standing. The contract does not appear to be an issue now that the deal has apparently been completed.

Kirk Herbstreit attended Centerville High School in Centerville, Ohio, a Dayton suburb. As a senior quarterback for the Elks, Kirk was named Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year.

Herbstreit was also an outstanding basketball and baseball player.

The footballer was the first athlete to sign with the Ohio State Buckeyes when John Cooper was hired as head coach in 1988. From 1989 through 1993, he was a four-year letter winner at Ohio State University as a quarterback.

He led the Buckeyes as a senior in 1992 after waiting his time as a starter behind Kent Graham and Greg Frey.

The athlete took over as team captain as a senior in 1992. Kirk was a co-captain and team MVP that year.

He threw for 1,904 yards that season, including four 200-yard games, before falling in the Florida Citrus Bowl against the Georgia Bulldogs. In a 13-13 draw with Michigan in 1992, he established the Ohio State record for most pass completions (28) and threw for 271 yards.

His father was a three-year letter winner at Ohio State, a defensive back, playing running back, and special teams. Jim formerly coached football at The Miami of Ohio, Ohio State University, and Akron University.

In addition, the former coach served as the Executive Vice President of Sabre System in Dayton, Ohio. Jim enjoyed tennis, gardening, and cooking. 

His father was a co-captain of the 1960 Ohio State team and subsequently an assistant coach at Ohio State under Woody Hayes. When Kirk was appointed co-captain in 1992, Jim and his son became just the second father-son tandem to be Ohio State captains.

Nashville, Tennessee is where the Herbstreit family resides. Herbstreit’s family used to reside in Ohio until moving away in 2011 after an Ohio Stae fan accused Kirk of disparaging his alma university. It grew so terrible that the family was forced to flee.
