
CUDJOE KEY, Fla. (TCN) – A 56-year-old man was arrested and charged with his wife’s murder after what authorities said was a “significant fight and struggle for the victim.”
NBC Miami reports that on May 28, a neighbor called the authorities when 56-year-old Bradly Shawn Shadduck arrived at their house naked and wrapped in a blanket or towel. He allegedly told his neighbor to dial 911 and that there was blood everywhere.
When the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office arrived at Shadduck’s home, they found his wife, 62-year-old Lynne Alane Shadduck, unconscious in the hallway. The home was in disarray, and the woman had injuries to her face, head, and hands, per NBC Miami. She was transported to an area hospital and pronounced dead.
According to an arrest report obtained by the Miami Herald, police heard Bradly Shadduck allegedly tell the neighbor “Dude, my whole [expletive] house is full of blood, covered everywhere,” on home security footage.
When authorities began to interview Bradly Shadduck at the scene, he allegedly said “things just happened” before asking for an attorney. Later, he alleged that he and his wife went to dinner and had several drinks; he told interviewers that he passes out and doesn’t remember anything when he drinks too much, according to the Miami Herald. He then allegedly said that he and his had rough sex, which is why the inside of their house was a mess.
People reports that according to the arrest report, Bradly Shadduck alleged that he did not remember going to his neighbor’s house and asking for help.
A search warrant was executed at the couple’s home, and the Miami Herald reports that it states, “There was blood throughout the entire residence, from the front door there was bloody hand smears along with pools of blood on the floor in the main living area…Several items, objects and or instruments were broken throughout the entire residence… Several towels were covered with blood on the floor between the living area and the kitchen…The main hallway had a bloody smear on the floor as if the victim was dragged down the hallway to the bathroom. The bathroom with the toilet and the tub/shower combo all had dried blood on or around each of these.”
WPLG reports that according to Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Paul McNalley, the state of the home showed “a significant fight and struggle for the victim.”
People reports that according to court records, Bradly Shadduck was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
In a Facebook post honoring her life, Lynne Alane Shadduck was described as a nurse who devoted her life to caring for others. It reads, “…she touched countless lives with her gentle hands, unwavering empathy, and healing spirit. Her career was not just a profession, but a true calling to comfort those in need.”
According to the Miami Herald, Bradly Shadduck is scheduled to appear in front of a judge on June 5 for his arraignment. The investigation is ongoing.
