Florida man allegedly snuck into couple’s hotel room, hid under their bed overnight

DORAL, Fla. (TCN) — A 25-year-old man is facing a felony charge of burglary after a couple allegedly found him hiding under their hotel room bed.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by People, a couple arrived at the Provident Doral hotel on Sept. 9. They closed the blinds covering the sliding glass door and went to bed. One of the victims said she felt movement in the middle of the night but went back to sleep. At around 6:30 a.m. on Sept. 10, said she felt movement coming from underneath the bed. She looked under the bed at about 7:45 a.m. and allegedly saw Ritchel Calvaire hiding there.

The victims left the hotel room and contacted security, according to People. Ritchel Calvaire was then taken into custody. Hotel security told police Calvaire had been a guest at the hotel; he had checked out on Aug. 31 and was told not to come back. Hotel security alleged he returned two days later and was escorted off the property.

According to the arrest affidavit, Calvaire allegedly gained access to the hotel again “by jumping over a balcony fence and entering through a rear sliding glass door.”

Calvaire was booked into jail on Sept. 10 and faces charges of felony burglary and misdemeanor resisting an officer without violence, according to People.
