Florida man cuffed for allegedly exposing himself at HomeGoods

CAPE CORAL, Fla. (TCN) — A 43-year-old man has been charged with indecent exposure after police say he stripped down inside a home décor store.

According to the Cape Coral Police Department, officers received a call regarding alleged incident exposure at a HomeGoods on Sept. 7. It was reported that a man was fully nude. Responding officers located Billy Thomas, who had allegedly left HomeGoods and was going toward a supermarket dressed in a black tank top and shorts.

Thomas allegedly told police he knew why they were there. He allegedly stated his clothes started smoking and the bicycle he was riding was smoking. According to police, they did not see any bicycle at the scene. Officers spoke with a witness who alleged Thomas told her, “I’m sorry, I have to do this” before removing his clothes. A store employee also said she saw Thomas after he allegedly removed his clothing.

Shopper Alexandra Campos told Gulf Coast News Now, “I don’t really expect to go HomeGoods and see some naked man in the middle of the aisle.”

According to police, Thomas was arrested and charged with indecent exposure. According to Lee County Sheriff’s Office records, Thomas has been arrested 28 times since 2002, Gulf Coast News Now reports.
