SMYRNA, Ga. (TCN) — An 18-year-old man has been charged with malice murder and concealing the death of another in connection with the death of a woman whose dismembered remains were found inside a car trunk and a plastic tub.
According to the Smyrna Police Department, officers responded Sept. 23 to a missing person call at Park Valley Apartments. People reports that the family of 26-year-old Shanteria Mosley could not reach her, so they tracked her phone to the apartments and called police. Dismembered human remains were allegedly found inside an apartment in a plastic tub.
Kingston Bradley was charged in connection with Mosley’s death, according to police.
According to a witness, Bradley was allegedly seen carrying a plastic tub through a public area of the apartment complex, WCTV reports. He allegedly dropped the tub when he saw the witness and ran into his own apartment.
In an update, police announced they executed a search warrant on a vehicle on Sept. 25 and found garbage bags in the trunk. One bag was reportedly pulled tightly and allegedly showed the outline of a body part. The bag was not opened, and police called the Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office to investigate.
Medical examiner’s office personnel later confirmed the garbage bag contained body parts. Police publicly identified the victim as Mosley in their update.
Bradley had initially been charged with concealing the death of another and was charged with malice murder after the bag was opened and confirmed to contain human remains. Police announced they believe Mosley was killed on Sept. 23 between 10 a.m. and noon.
People reports Mosley worked as a DoorDash driver. The company told the outlet there is no evidence she made any deliveries to the address where her body was allegedly found.
WCTV reports Bradley has a history of violence, based on court documents. In December 2024, he was charged with two counts of terroristic threats and acts, simple battery, battery, and criminal trespass. According to the outlet, he allegedly hit his father and a 15-year-old with an Xbox controller, broke a door, and broke a window by pushing a child into it.
According to police, Bradley is being held without bond at Cobb County Jail. The investigation is ongoing and authorities are looking into how Mosley and Kingston knew each other.
Smyrna Police Department public information officer Lt. Meredith Holt told ABC News, “This is a shocking crime. I don’t know how else to describe it. … I’ve been in law enforcement for 25 years, and I have been a part of multiple homicide cases, and I worked crimes against children for 16 years, and this is a particularly gruesome crime.”
