Though Gia declared in Episode 8 of Next Gen NYC that it meant so much to have Christian by her side at BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas, he admitted that the experience threw him way outside his comfort zone. More specifically, Christian said that he didn’t “like to be on camera,” leaving Gia to wonder what that might mean for them documenting their family life on reality TV in the future.

“It would be more foreign for me to step away from the public eye than be in the public eye, at this point,” Gia explained in a producer interview. “Would I love for my partner to be in this spotlight with me? Of course. But it’s also not something that I am going to force on him. And that’s where it gets really tricky.”

After the two further unpacked the issue over dinner, The Real Housewives of New Jersey daughter added, “If Christian chose not to be in the public eye and not want our family to be in the public eye, it would be a really hard decision for me.”

Where Gia Giudice and Christian Carmichael stand on the public life issue today

On the Next Gen NYC After Show, Gia reflected on her “crazy” career evolution from when she and Christian started dating until now, underscoring the fact that her boyfriend has never said that anything was “too much” for him. “He never has stopped me from doing anything,” she said.

Gia also noted that she’s respected Christian’s wishes, and as time has passed, he’s seemed to be more on board with living a more public life. “I don’t ever want it to be too much,” she added. “What also scares me is, like, I also don’t want to … push him too far, and then he hates it and he doesn’t want to do it anymore.”

As Gia further stated, “I mean, when him and I do move in with each other, I think he knows what he’s signing up for, at that point,” before concluding, “And now, Christian has gotten more and more comfortable, so I don’t think I would be opposed to having cameras at my wedding.”

Gia has already teased her and Christian’s plans to start looking for a place to live together this fall. When it comes to the next big steps in their relationship, however, she’s fine with just enjoying the journey.

“We don’t necessarily have a timeline of when we’re gonna get married,” Gia revealed on the After Show. “I think it’s kind of whenever it happens, it happens. But I would say, like, my timeline is I would love to be moved in and engaged and married by 30.”

That would give them roughly five years to “figure all that out,” she noted. “By the time I reach 30, I would like to, then, start thinking about kids,” the 25-year-old continued. “And I wanna also enjoy my engagement. I’m not rushing.”

In closing, Gia further remarked, “When you have a ring on your finger, yeah, it’s a different level. Like, I’d rather be moved in, have the ring on my finger, plan the wedding of my dreams, and take my time.”
