Los Angeles, California – After the sudden death of Hayden Panettiere, her ex, Wladimir Klitschko, has taken to court in order to protect their daughter’s inheritance.
Panettiere left no will behind when she died in August, and as a result, her 11-year-old daughter, Kaya, is her sole heir.
To protect the late actor’s estate, Kaya’s dad, Wladimir Klitschko, has now petitioned to be appointed the temporary guardian of his daughter’s assets.
His legal move was revealed in court documents cited by TMZ on Monday.

The former professional boxer fears that part of the inheritance could disappear and, therefore, argues that his appointment should be done immediately.
The documents outline some concrete concerns for Klitschko: While she was alive, Panettiere hired a security service for her home because she feared an “individual had gained unauthorized access” to her property.
Although a company has since replaced the locks, the danger has not been eliminated.
“It is expected that the individual will continue to try and misappropriate property belonging to Hayden’s estate,” Klitschko is quoted as saying in the report, noting the high public interest in the case.
Panettiere and Klitschko became parents in 2014 and separated four years later.
The Heroes star then granted her former fiancé sole custody of Kaya, who has been living with her father in Ukraine ever since.
