Headless Body Found on Beach Amid Search for Emmy-Winning Filmmaker – Crime Online

A dismembered body was reportedly found on a New York beach on Friday amid an ongoing search for an Emmy-winning Irish filmmaker who vanished two weeks earlier.

Sources told the New York Daily News that the headless body was discovered on Breezy Point Beach, not far from where Ross McDonnell, 44, was last seen riding his bike on November 4. Cops allegedly believe the body washed ashore after it was in the ocean — where it was subjected to wildlife in addition to sharp rocks and waves.

The Irish Times reported that McDonnell’s bicycle was found chained up at Fort Tilden three days after his apparent disappearance.

Sources told NBC News that there is no evidence of foul play or suicide. McDonnell is believed to have drowned, a source told the New York Daily News.

Sources told the New York Post that investigators are awaiting the results of a DNA test to confirm whether the body is McDonnell.
