Hit-and-Run Driver Carries Victim in His Windshield for 2 Miles Before Dumping Body in Maryland Neighborhood – Crime Online

Police in Maryland are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck a man, drove two miles with the victim lodged in his windshield, and dumped the body on the side of the road.

Prince George’s County police said that Franklin Membreno Mendez, 28, was involved in a minor, unrelated collision on Annapolis Road sometime before 4 a.m. Saturday. When he got out of his car, he was hit by another car, believed to be an older model, gray Honda Civic.

The driver of the Honda drove to Arwick Ardmore Road, where he was seen on doorbell camera video stopping and pulling Mendez’s body off his windshield and driving away, WTTG reported.

The neighbor whose camera captured the scene told WTTG that the driver “took his time,” walking around his car before removing Mendez’s body and then lit a cigarette before making a U-turn and leaving the Hyattsville neighborhood.

Police say the suspect vehicle has a large hole in the passenger side windshield and damage to the front bumper and fender on that saide. It also has a large white decal across the top of the back window.
