Husband Arrested for Murder of Award-Winning Nurse, Mother-of-3 – Crime Online

Illinois police arrested a Quincy father Monday in connection with the death of his estranged wife, Rebecca Bliefnick, who was found dead inside her Quincy residence in February.

On Monday, Quincy Police Chief Adam Yates said during a press statement that 39-year-old Timothy W. Bliefnick, of Quincy, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder for the killing of Rebecca, 41.

“At 8:24 this morning, Quincy Police Department detectives and members of the department’s emergency response team arrested 39-year-old Timothy W. Bliefnick, of Quincy, for a no-bond warrant on two counts of first-degree murder and home invasion for the murder of Rebecca Bliefnick,” Yates said.

Police took Bliefnick into custody at his home off Kentucky Road, without incident.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Yates previously asked the community for patience after a family member found Rebecca Bliefnick shot dead inside her home on February 23. Police said the relative found the victim after she failed to pick her children up from the St. Peter School in Quincy.

The incident happened inside Rebecca Bliefnick’s residence in the 2500 block of Kentucky Road, around a mile away from the defendant’s home.

Court documents indicate that the pair were going through a divorce at the time of the incident, filed in 2021, with the latest court hearing in April this year.
