Upon hearing Captain Sandy’s announcement about Max’s return, both Aesha and Joe were visibly excited. While Aesha immediately applauded, Joe chimed in, “No way, you’re lying! Max is coming?!” (Aesha, Joe, and Nathan all previously worked with Max during Below Deck Med Season 10.)

As Max explains in a producer interview, “My dream, one day I’m gonna be bosun. But I don’t want to, like, betray my friend Joe.”

Max Salvador’s previous Below Deck Med seasons, revisited
Much like his current stint, Max joined Below Deck Med Season 8 as a deckhand replacement in Episode 3, following a crew member’s early departure. With four years of yachting experience to his credit at the time, Max shared that he had been fired from every job he’d held since he was 18, but only because he was “misunderstood.”Â
Nonetheless, Max faced questions about his work ethic and informed Captain Sandy that he “might leave,” with just two-and-a-half weeks left in the charter season. However, he remained with the M/Y Mustique crew through the Season 8 finale.
Fast-forward to Below Deck Med Season 10, and Captain Sandy welcomed Max back as a deckhand, describing him as a “changed man.” Though the Frenchman endeavored to showcase his growing maturity, he still had some minor clashes with bosun Nathan over his job performance.Â
Meanwhile, Max also had a boatmance with stew Cathy Skinner. Despite the two leaving M/Y Bravado together in the finale, Max and Cathy broke up shortly after the season wrapped.
