A Vermont man allegedly contacted the FBI and said, “Im gonna kill trump” and “shoot Him in the head,” along with several other threats, according to federal prosecutors.
“This is Keegan I willdo that s— f— Donald trump,” said Keegan Lagasse, 21, of Richford, in an online tip provided to the FBI National Threat Operations Center (NTOC) on Nov. 9, according to a federal complaint.
“I’m gonna murder all Them,” Lasgasse allegedly said.
“This is Keegan im gonna shoot Him in the head or im gonna plant a bomb and blow up the White House soon,” Lagasse added about President Trump, according to the complaint. “Murder for hire I might have someone else Kill Him.”

On Aug. 24, 2026, NTOC received an online tip that “appears to have been submitted by Lagasse,” according to federal prosecutors. “The submitter again identified ‘Keegan Lagasse’ both as the complainant and the subject in the tip,” the complaint says. “The submitted text read, ‘Im gonna kill trump.'”
In a motion for detention last week, prosecutors wrote that while Lagasse may not have had the “immediate physical capabilities to fulfill all the threats, the repetitive nature of the threats and the necessary responses of law enforcement made the circumstances more serious.”
The DOJ’s filing alleges that Lagasse “posted a video of himself holding an apparent rifle on a social media platform” weeks before posting an allegation that he was going to “shoot up” a local high school. “Accordingly, the nature and circumstances of the offense charged support detention,” the DOJ’s motion said, noting how Lagasse has allegedly made numerous threats in the past.
In October 2023, Lagasse allegedly threatened to blow up Richford, Missisquoi and Essex High Schools in Vermont. In February 2024, Lagasse threatened to blow up the Cadillac Motel in St. Albans City “and to shoot people,” according to federal prosecutors.
In September 2024, Lagasse allegedly threatened to blow up a Maple Fields convenience store in St. Albans and to also “blow up” Richford High School. In November 2024, Lagasse posted on social media that he was going to “shoot up” Richford, according to prosecutors.
“Following the November 2025 presidential threat, the defendant reportedly admitted to interviewing investigators that he contacted the FBI tip line and stated he hated and was going kill the president,” according to the DOJ’s detention order. “In July 2026, he reportedly told the State Police dispatch that he had previously made threats about bombs and the president.”
Lagasse is charged with willfully making a threat to take the life of, and to inflict bodily harm upon, the president of the United States. He has been ordered held without bail and is due back in court on Oct. 5 for his arraignment and preliminary hearing.
