Indiana murder suspect facing additional charges after homicide investigation allegedly uncovered CSAM on his phone



MUNCIE, Ind. (TCN) – A 21-year-old who was recently arrested and charged in connection with the death of his girlfriend is facing an additional 12 felony charges after the homicide investigation allegedly found child sexual abuse materials on his phone.

WXIN reports that on May 10, Rylynn Davis was arrested when his girlfriend, 23-year-old Cheyenne Raines, was found with multiple gunshots wounds to the face. Two other victims, men ages 39 and 40, were injured in the shooting. Raines was pronounced dead at an area hospital and Davis was charged with murder, attempted murder, aggravated battery, and other related charges. In addition, he was charged with neglect when authorities found his three children covered in feces and living in what they described as “deplorable conditions” in a locked bedroom. 

Davis was booked into jail following his arrest and has been held without bond ever since; WXIN reports that his trial was scheduled to begin Oct. 13. During the investigation, authorities executed a search warrant on Davis’ devices and allegedly found CSAM downloaded onto his phone.

According to a probable cause affidavit obtained by WXIN, Rylynn is facing an additional 12 felony charges for the CSAM, which he allegedly downloaded as well as advertised on Telegram groups. According to The Star Press, if the Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office decides to file formal charges and Davis is convicted, he could face up to six years in prison in addition to the murder and attempted murder charges.
