Ariana said as much during an exclusive interview with Bravo Insider in July, adding, “I think we’re trying not to jump the gun too much. But I think no matter what, he will always be an important person in my life.”
The Georgia native further elaborated on her and Hudson’s relationship during a July 22 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen when she was asked about their status. “Yes, we are together, but it’s kind of like we’re still figuring it out,” she explained. “I don’t want to have the back and forth again. I just want to make sure that we can still grow independently.”

Ariana shed new light on what led to her and Hudson’s breakup when speaking with Bravo Insider about their newly-rekindled relationship. “I feel like that’s kind of why it’s a day by day thing, ’cause we want to get through the things, the reasons why I left. We broke up with each other, you know? That’s why it’s still up in the air in a way,” Ariana explained. “[We want to] see if we can do it, or if it wasn’t a long enough time. It was what, seven months apart or whatever? But we’ll see as time goes.”

In the same July interview with Bravo Insider, Ariana admitted that she got back together with Hudson earlier this year when they were both going through some things in their lives. “We were both going through a pretty rough time in January and February, and he was going through some especially hard things and I really wanted to be there for him no matter what,” she said. “He’s somebody that will always be important to me, and we just kind of started talking in the process of me trying to be there for him and vice versa. And one thing led to another, and here we are today.”
Ariana shared a similar sentiment during her aforementioned appearance on WWHL: “The last breakup felt very final. I was moving out. It felt like it was going to be very different this time. But we were both going through a difficult time earlier this year and we found our way back to each other and we’re taking it day by day.”
