The Hemsworth Brothers have already contributed to marsupial conservation. Chris Hemsworth previously collaborated with environmentalists in Aussie Ark in 2020 to reintroduce Tasmanian Devils.

After 3000 years, the Tasmanian Devils were brought back to the Australian mainland in 2020.

Chris even shared a YouTube video where he demonstrated to his followers how to set up traps to capture the Devils before releasing them back into the wild.

Elsa Pataky, his wife, accompanied him in releasing the rare and critically endangered creature that is frequently likened to the Looney Tunes figure Taz.

One of the Colossal company’s founders, Ben Lamm, expressed great excitement about the Hemsworth Brothers’ potential involvement. Ben has strong expectations that the extinct species will be brought back to Australia based on the brothers’ earlier studies.

When the Colossal company raised $60 million in March 2022 for their Series A project, Lamm and the brothers Luke and Chris became friends.

The brothers then made the choice to contribute to the venture. According to Lamm, they were extremely passionate about not only reintroducing Tasmanian Tigers but also embracing numerous upcoming projects aimed at marsupial conservation.

De-extinction Company Colossal Biosciences Will Resurrect The Tasmanian Tiger

Harvard geneticist George Church is a co-founder of the genetic engineering start-up company Colossal Biosciences. The geneticist is prepared to use gene editing technology to bring back the Tassie Tigers.

The Tasmanian Tiger, which became extinct fifty years ago, is being brought back thanks to its collaboration with Melbourne University, which is contributing its resources.

Given that 15 additional scientists are prepared to join the project, the group of 10 scientists working on it under the direction of famous researcher Andrew Pask is expected to grow.

The Benn Lamm-led business raised $15 million in September 2021, and in March it exceeded its $60 million target through oversubscription.

Not just the Hemsworth brothers have expressed interest in bringing the extinct animal back to life. Paris Hilton, a socialite, has also shown interest in the project.

The recognizable wolf-like creatures became extinct in 1936 as a result of relentless human killing. Amazing, huh? The scientists are now prepared to bring it back thanks to their 10-year study. And they’re not just focusing on getting the Tasmanian Tigers back.

The scientific team also hopes to revive the woolly mammoth. Yes, that extinct mammal from 10,000 years ago.

One of them will be simpler to bring back.

Like kangaroos, Tasmanian Tigers are born and nurtured in pouches. When compared to the woolly mammoth’s 22-month gestation cycle, the Tasmanian Tiger’s is only 30 days.

According to Ben Lamm, the Tasmanian Tiger may be the first species to recover from extinction as a result of the large number of high-quality samples that have been saved and the shorter gestation period.
