When Next Gen NYC Season 2 premiered, Gia Giudice and Ava Dash were already feuding, and, as it turns out, Teresa Giudice was involved — whether The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member knew it or not.
Ahead of Emira D’Spain’s birthday bash in Episode 1 (streaming on Peacock beginning June 25), Ava feared that she would be “walking into the lion’s den,” explaining that Gia had recently gone on a podcast and called her a “liar.” She elaborated to a producer, “I’m not feeling great about Gia. Last summer, I noticed that Gia’s mother had followed and unfollowed me, and I guess Gia didn’t think that that was true.”
A clip from The Viall Files rolled, showing Gia addressing whether or not Teresa had actually unfollowed Ava on social media. “When Ava said that, I was like, ‘Girl, like, you’re just, you’re lying,'” Gia claimed on the podcast. “I know my mom, and she doesn’t care that much to unfollow you.”
Back in her confessional, Ava continued, “I just don’t want to be called a liar. And when your friends are talking badly about you in the public, that’s not a good look. I don’t wanna bring this up at Emira’s party, but we’re gonna have to figure that one out.”

According to Ava, she was already dealing with “so much negativity being spread” about her and her family in the media, referring specifically to her father, Damon Dash, filing for bankruptcy and receiving an eviction notice for their shared apartment.
“I don’t need to, like, release a statement and say, ‘Hey, guys, I wasn’t the one that made us get this eviction notice,'” Ava said. “But the friend that has said something untrue about me and come for my character, this one I, like, have to address. I would like to clear my name.”
Inside Ava Dash and Gia Giudice’s confrontation on Next Gen NYC Season 2
Later, Ava added, “I assume that Gia knew that after the podcast she went on came out, I wouldn’t be that happy with her.” She also revealed that Emira’s birthday party would mark the first time she and Gia saw each other since the interview dropped. Still, she didn’t think the celebration was an appropriate time to “start drama.”
The two remained cordial throughout the main event, but Ava eventually broached the subject during Emira’s afterparty. “I saw your podcast that you did where you said I was a liar,” she told Gia.

When Gia doubled down on her claim that Teresa did not unfollow her, Ava fired back, “You could just apologize. I think it’s fake to say something in the press and then not say it in person. … If I called you a liar on a podcast, I don’t think you would like it.”
Gia, for her part, clapped back, “When you’re coming after my mother, I’m gonna call you a liar,” adding, “You’re not owning that you also talked s–t.” Regardless, Ava maintained, “I did not come after your mom. … I didn’t say anything mean about you or your mother.”
Gia Giudice and Ariana Biermann reveal more drama with Ava Dash
The drama had been confusing for both Gia and castmate Ariana Biermann, because the duo thought that they were the ones who were upset with Ava, and not the other way around.Â
Earlier in Next Gen NYC‘s June 24 premiere episode, Gia and Arianna had cited a recent press event during which they claimed Ava “was really rude” to them and barely even acknowledged their presence.
“We were mad at her because she was rude to us,” Gia remarked in a joint confessional with Ariana. “It was almost giving this attitude that she was better than us.” As the two pointed out, mothers (and family, in general) are “off-limits.”
