The Valley‘s Janet Caperna set the record straight after Lacy Nicole’s accusation during Season 3, Episode 7, that she had allegedly dug up information about her.Â
“On God, on my son, on Jason [Caperna], on everything of my life, I have never looked stuff up on Lacy,” Janet insisted on The Valley After Show, adding, later, “I think Lacy thinks I care about her more than I do.”
Lacy’s boyfriend, Jesse Lally, separately claimed on the After Show that “Janet is the queen of Reddit,” however. He specifically cited an example of Janet already knowing that Lacy had “done two or three pre-tapes” for The Real Housewives of Orange County before she even met her. But Janet denied those assertions as well.

“I like Reddit because I like reading information, like science articles and things like that,” Janet explained. “I’m not digging on Reddit for that information. Is that information even on Reddit?”
She continued, “I would say I’m on my phone a couple [of] hours a day, but I’m not digging up information to harm people.”

That said, Janet admitted that she had seen rumors about Lacy posted elsewhere online but maintained that she never actively sought out the intel. Plus, Janet has made no secret that she’s close friends with Jesse’s ex, Michelle Saniei, who had her own info to share.
“I’ve seen stuff on Bravo pages about her,” Janet elaborated, referring to Lacy. “But, like, this is not information that I’m digging up. It’s stuff that pops up because we’re in the Bravo world. I’m not running background checks on Lacy.”
More specifically, Janet said that she’d “maybe seen comments” that indicated Lacy had “applied for” RHOC. Pointing out that Lacy already confirmed that to be true on The Valley anyway, she further remarked, “Get your coin, girl. Like, that’s totally fine. But I’m not looking up this information. This is information that she’s either shared with people or is very, like, publicly available.”

Janet also brought up Scheana Shay’s claim from Season 2, which resurfaced in The Valley‘s May 13 episode, that Lacy told her directly that she was “sleeping with” a Baywatch actor at the beginning of her and Jesse’s relationship.
“The Baywatch thing, she told Scheana that,” Janet said on the After Show. “So, like, that sticks with you. … But, like, this isn’t information that I dug up. I wouldn’t even know where to find that information.”

Despite Janet’s denials, castmate Zack Wickham, for one, joined Jesse in giving a conflicting version of events on The Valley After Show. By his account, Janet did, indeed, run a background check on Lacy, but only the version you can get “without paying” a fee.
“Janet admitted to Lacy when they were first hanging out that she has a folder on everybody, including Lacy,” Zack claimed.
When Jasmine Goode, meanwhile, suggested that “maybe Janet’s joking when she says that stuff,” Zack said that he would not be so quick to brush it off. “If it [were] anybody else, I’d say that’s a joke,” he added. “With her, I’m like, ha-ha, it’s true.”
On the flip side, Jason defended his wife. “The whole thing was just all over the place, and it was hard for me to follow,” he commented, referring to his, Janet, Lacy, and Jesse’s tense Episode 7 sit-down. “I think that Lacy thinks that she’s a bigger fixture in Janet’s mind than she is.”
Jason concluded, “Janet’s friends with Michelle, obviously, but she’s not ‘single white female.’ She’s not like … ‘Let me dig up dirt!’ Like, if Janet did that, I would divorce her. That’s, like, actually insane.”
