In a stunning behind-the-scenes reveal, The Valley‘s Janet Caperna claimed that her off-camera interactions with Jesse Lally and Lacy Nicole had been vastly different from how the couple has been acting toward her on the show.
A discussion about her admitted tendency to exit a conversation “when the going gets tough” on The Valley After Show for Season 3, Episode 13 (streaming on Peacock beginning June 25), called to mind Janet’s earlier sit-down with Jesse, Lacy, and husband Jason Caperna during the group’s getaway to San Diego. That’s when Janet went on to recount what happened between them before filming officially commenced.
“I was so caught off guard in San Diego when Jesse and Lacy were like, ‘Can you stick behind and chat?'” she recalled on The Valley After Show, following more recent drama on the cast trip to Mexico. “Because right before we started filming the season, Michelle [Saniei] and I had lunch at Chateau Marmont, and we parked like literally across the street from Jesse’s house.”
According to Janet, when Jesse realized during a mid-lunch Facetime call involving his and Michelle’s 6-year-old daughter Isabella that they were so close to his home, he invited the two to “drop by for a glass of wine” afterward. “We went over,” she added, as a group photo from their impromptu get-together flashed on the screen. “We actually had, like, a nice time.”

As far as Janet was concerned, if Jesse actually “had an issue” with her, that would’ve been the perfect opportunity for him to mention it. However, he did not say anything to her, at the time.

From there, Janet also detailed how the “same thing” happened between her and Lacy on a separate occasion. “We ran into each other at, like, some press event,” she added. “And I DM’ed her the next morning and said like, ‘Hey, I’m having, like, hangover anxiety. I think I made, like, an, like, off-putting joke to you about this and this.'”
Janet continued, “She was like, ‘Oh, I didn’t even think twice about that. Water under the bridge. Don’t worry.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, thank God. OK, good.’ Like, that would’ve been a good time to respond. But instead, [Jesse] waits until we’re in front of everybody, months later, and he’s like, ‘We have an issue with you. Can you stick back?'”
Michelle, meanwhile, chimed in to say, “I didn’t know they had an issue with you,” prompting Janet to reply, “How would we know? Were you fake then, or are you fake now?” As Michelle saw it, “You’re just fake.”
Janet Caperna’s drama with Jesse Lally and Lacy Nicole on The Valley, explained
Their on-camera conversation in San Diego that Janet was referring to previously took place following a group dinner in Episode 7. Lacy had spearheaded the chat between them and their partners, sharing with Janet that she didn’t “personally like the gang-up, mean girl, bully thing” that she believed she was doing to her. “The way you treated me is, like, so uncool,” Lacy said.
Janet, for her part, denied participating such behavior, stating that “the only problem” she’d ever had with Lacy involved her treatment of Michelle. Regardless, Lacy accused Janet of “still making excuses” and went on to further claim that she’d dug up information on her as well, specifically mentioning her learning from Reddit that she’d auditioned for The Real Housewives of Orange County “like 17 times.”
“My issue is when I met Janet, the first thing she said to me was how she was Googling me and doing a background check and that she went on a deep dive on me on Reddit,” Lacy elaborated in a confessional. “Because that’s weird and inappropriate.”

Janet, meanwhile, insisted that she was more interested in them all just having a “fun weekend,” rather than engaging in unnecessary drama. Still, Jesse blasted Janet for giving him and Lacy “the type of apology that everybody hates [her] for.” Their issues remained unresolved, as Janet abruptly exited the sit-down, throwing up a middle finger on her way out of the restaurant.
“I’ve met Lacy a couple times,” Janet explained in a confessional afterward. “The fact though that she thinks I’m digging up information is interesting, because everything I know about her, she’s come out and told me.”
As the drama continues on The Valley, don’t miss exclusive details on Janet’s response to claims that she “digs up” information on her castmates.
