Jealous Ex-Boyfriend Breaks Into Ex-Girlfriend’s Home, Shoots New Boyfriend In Head’ Deputies have taken a Georgia man into custody after he allegedly drove to his ex-girlfriend’s home, discovered her in bed with her new boyfriend, and shot him in the head.

According to 11 Alive News, the incident unfolded Sunday morning around 11 a.m. at a residence off Bonnies Way in Jackson. Police said the victim was conscious and cooperative when they arrived and answered questions about the incident.

It’s unclear exactly where in the head he was shot, but first responders rushed the victim to an area hospital following the shooting.

Officers told the network that they were initially called to reports of a possible home invasion and that they later learned it was a shooting.

According to the Gun Violence Archive, a database that collects information about shootings from across the country, there have been 28 shootings in Georgia since June 1 this year. Some 37 people were injured in those shootings.

The perpetrator fled from the scene but was captured after police reviewed neighborhood security cameras. There were children inside the home at the time but none of them were injured, according to Butts County Sheriff Gary Long.

“We got cameras all over the county now — Flock cameras — and then we got this neighborhood, people all throughout this neighborhood with cameras,” Sheriff Long said. “So our investigators, through the investigation, was able to recover surveillance footage from neighbors so this case will move really quick.”

Butts County Sheriff Gary Long said that technology in the area went towards capturing the suspect.

“So our investigators, thorough the investigation, were able to recover surveillance footage from neighbors so this case will move really quick.”
