‘Jeopardy!’ champ previously convicted of secret peeping arrested for child porn possession

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (TCN) — A 44-year-old man who previously pleaded guilty to felony secret peeping has been arrested for allegedly possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Philip Joseph “Joey” DeSena, an engineer, was a two-time “Jeopardy!” champion who won a total of $44,968 on the show. He pleaded guilty in July to two felony charges of secret peeping in connection with the installation of cameras in the bedroom and bathroom at a rental home. As part of his plea agreement, he was sentenced to 60 months of probation and was not required to register as a sex offender.

WBTV reports DeSena was arrested on Oct. 23 and charged with 10 counts of second-degree exploitation of a minor. According to an arrest warrant obtained by the outlet, DeSena allegedly possessed sexually explicit photos and videos depicting children.

According to WDTV, the files allegedly found in his possession depicted children between the ages of 7 and 15 years old.

DeSena was booked into jail on Oct. 26 and denied bond, per WBTV. He is scheduled to appear in court again on Nov. 16. TV Insider reports he could spend up to 15 years in prison if he is found guilty.
