‘Jeopardy!’ Contestant Has Runaway Win After Triple Get Final Clue

That was impressive! One Jeopardy! contestant had a runaway win after multiple incorrect responses from their opponents. Find out if the returning champion won again.

Erica Doornek, from Glasgow, Montana, entered her second game with a total of $23,500. On November 2, the federal employee played against Andy Seher, from Milwaukie, Oregon, and Liz Webber, from New York, New York. Warning: Spoilers for the Monday, November 2, episode of Jeopardy! ahead!

Doornek defeated two-day champion  Stefanie Landeweer, from Lexington Park, Maryland. That game was closer, with less than $8,000 between first and second place.

Both Seher, an executive legal recruiter, and Webber, a journalist, failed to take the lead when they had multiple incorrect responses, with 11 combined. This led the way for Doornek, who had zero incorrect responses, to have a runaway win by the end of the game.

At the end of the Double Jeopardy round, Doornek led with $15,200. Seher had $5,600. Webber was in third place with $1,000.

The category for Final Jeopardy was “Architecture.” The clue read, “It’s been said of this building that you hear it before you see it; its architect described the sound as ‘the music of the stream.’” All three game show contestants had the correct response of “What is Fallingwater?”

Webber wagered $0, ending her with $1,000. Seher wagered $3,599, making his final total $9,199. Doornek wagered smart with only $300. This gave her a final total of $15,500.

She won the game and had a two-day total of $39,000. Doornek will return for her third game on Tuesday.

Fans reacted to the final clue on Reddit. “I’d have been wrong because I couldn’t think of the name, but I had the picture in my head. The last bit made the connection for me,” one fan said.

“Kinda jumped the gun on this and went with Sydney Opera House,” another fan said. One Reddit user agreed with them and commented that they said the same thing.

“I was stuck on Big Ben/Elizabeth Tower due to it being right next to the Thames, but the right answer came to me at the last minute,” another said.
