The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys‘ Kacie Adkison is sharing some major updates on Steven McBee Sr.’s life in prison. The McBee family patriarch is currently serving a two-year sentence in federal prison for crop insurance fraud and is doing well, according to Kacie.

Cole McBee’s fiancée took to her Instagram Story on Tuesday, May 12, where she answered questions from her Instagram followers. One of these questions was about how Steve is currently doing during his time away, to which Kacie was very honest with her reply.

“Lots of questions about Steve! He’s doing as good as he can be during his time away!” Kacie wrote. “We are going to see him this weekend!” She added. “I will let him know so many people are checking on him!”

Kacie also revealed that she, Cole, and their daughter, Blair Collins McBee, were able to tell Steven in person at his prison in South Dakota about her pregnancy with baby number two. “We go visit him once a month, and Blair wore her big sister sweater whenever she walked in to see him!!” Kacie shared.

The trailer for the new season kicks off with news of Steven’s sentencing and his voice talking about the farm. “I don’t know about you guys, but I want my kids to grow up here,” he said, as seen in the video above. “I want to be here til the day I die, and I want to be here til the day they die.” 

Later in the trailer, his oldest son, Steven McBee Jr., can be heard opening up about the dedication to keeping the family farm alive. “I am focused solely on saving the farm,” he said. “There is no backup plan, no contingency. We’re gonna make it through this, and I’ll be damned if it doesn’t happen.”

Steven McBee Jr. opens up about how his dad is doing amid his prison sentence

Steven Jr. opened up about his dad after his prison sentence during a panel at BravoCon 2025. He appeared on the panel alongside Cole and their brother, Jesse McBee, where they opened up about their dad’s mentality. “My dad is the most optimistic person we’ve ever met in our lives,” Steven Jr. said. “The man was built to handle stressful situations. If anything, we’re more stressed out than he is.”

“We’re just here to love and support him through this time, and as a family, we’ll get through anything together,” he added.
