Although KJ admitted to Andy Cohen that he had not looked at the message because he was a “bit scared to look at it,” he was willing to finally open it and read it on WWHL. KJ read the following message that West wrote him (watch him read it in the video above):

“I wanted to thank you for your articulation and kindness yesterday, despite being hurt. I’ve been off social, and I think I lost touch with how much hurt there was. I’m incredibly sorry. Also sending you love in regards to your mental health. You shared a lot yesterday, and I know it might carry much weight now. But I’m always rooting for the best for you. I know it will take some time, but whenever you feel like you’re ready, lunch or a phone call would mean a lot in the spirit of healing. No need to respond. Take your time.”

KJ immediately had an emotional reaction after reading the text message on air. “Oh, that hurts,” he admitted. “It just hurts because me and him were so close.”

KJ also opened up about the strength of his friendship with Ciara Miller. During the episode, he was asked how he felt “coming into the house as West’s friend but leaving as Ciara’s brother.” “It’s not easy, I’ll tell you that. But Ciara’s literally my sister, so I ride or die for her,” he stated.

How West Wilson introduced cast member KJ Dillard in Summer House Season 10

West had introduced KJ to the Summer House crew during the Season 10 premiere episode, when they drove to the Hamptons together. West admitted in a confessional that he was very happy to have KJ, a fellow native of Missouri, in the house with him. “Everyone knows I’m like annoying about being from Missouri. And proud. And now we’ve got two,” he explained during a confessional. “KJ, he’s very mild-mannered, and then around three to four tequila sodas, he’ll throw his grill in, flip his hat backwards, and start to rage.”

“He’s just like, really cute. But he likes fun, which is kind of perfect,” West added.
