When Cole McBee and Kacie Adkison decided to secretly tie the knot in Las Vegas during The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys Season 3, one very important person didn’t get an invite: McBee matriarch Kristi McBee. During their daughter Blair’s first birthday a few days later, Cole and Kacie broke the news to Kristi and a party full of McBee family and friends.
“Kacie and I wanted to get something special for Blair’s birthday. And we decided it was time that Kacie has the same last name as Blair,” Cole announced during Episode 9. “So when we were in Vegas, we got married on Thursday night.”
Kristi was shocked at the news, and initially didn’t say a word. Tessa Lollar asked, “Are you lying? You wouldn’t take that from your mother would you?” As Cole and Kacie sheepishly looked on, Kristi added, “Are you guys being serious?”
When it became clear this was no joke, Kristi’s emotions changed from disbelief to happiness as she hugged her son and new daughter-in-law.
“They got married!” Kristi exclaimed to producers during McBee Dynasty’s August 10 episode. “I don’t know what’s going to happen next, I’ve realized. I’ve lost control of my family.”
“And they kept it a secret. Every one of them! Even Steven [McBee Jr.],” Kristi pointed out of her oldest son. “Steven didn’t even tell me. He usually can’t ever keep a secret from me.”
Kristi sweetly confided in Kacie: “Finally, finally, you’re officially my daughter.”
But Kristi admitted her fondness for Kacie had nothing to do with a legal change. “Kacie’s already my daughter. And, you know, watching her be such a good mama to Blair has just made me love her even more,” she confessed to producers.

Cole McBee and Kacie Adkison reveal how they kept their marriage a secret
Cole and Kacie did more than just keep their marriage a secret from their parents at first—they also worked hard to keep it under wraps from fans until their wedding aired during McBee Dynasty’s August 3 episode.
“We wanted to make sure it was a surprise,” Cole said to Bravo Insider, revealing that he hadn’t even worn his wedding ring prior to the episode airing on Aug. 3. “You wouldn’t believe how hard it is to keep a surprise off social media. A lot of our friends don’t even know that we got married. They just think we’re engaged. I’m sure some of our best friends will text us like, ‘You guys got married?’ It’ll be great seeing that.”
