Kyle Cooke is defending himself after taking a picture with his estranged wife, Amanda Batula, at the In The City Season 1 premiere party event in NYC. Amanda and Kyle announced in January that they were separating after being married for four years, but they remain on good terms today.
Kyle took to his Instagram Story after the premiere party, where he opened up about taking the photo next to Amanda. “Yes, Amanda and I took a picture together. I was just happy she showed up,” he admitted. “She almost didn’t come to a show that she participated in. Shoot me. Shoot me.”
He continued, defending himself and Amanda. “Don’t call my life, my relationship, my marriage, and the implosion of my marriage fake,” he stated. “Guys, with all due respect, we’re all adults here, and we all showed up to a premiere party. And yes, Amanda did not want to come. And I convinced her to come. We took a photo together. Grow the f–k up.”

Kyle and Amanda weren’t the only ones to pose together on the red carpet at the premiere event for In The City. Danielle Olivera took to her Instagram Story on Monday, where she posted a photo of her standing alongside Amanda and Kyle, along with cast members Lindsay Hubbard, Eoin Heavey, Andrea Denver, Lexi Sundin, Nick Barber, Yvonne Najor, Georgina Ferzil, Whitney Fransway, Kenny Martin, Gavin Moseley, and Katie Arundel.

Kyle Cooke reveals he still has “so much love” for Amanda Batula amid their separation
Kyle has been open about finding a path forward with Amanda after she confirmed her romance with Summer House‘s West Wilson after their split. Kyle appeared on the podcast, Trading Secrets, on May 11, where he shared more details about this. “So I was already in the mindset, I just kind of want to take the high road. I still have so much love for Amanda,” he explained during the episode.Â
“Like, let’s just try to have an amicable split because we have so many friends on so many different shows, including our own, that had a pretty horrible breakup. And it took years just to be in the same room. You know what I mean?” he continued. “And so I was already kind of trying to train myself to take the high road.”

But he’s also been there for Amanda, too. Kyle spoke with Access Hollywood‘s Reality Nightcap on May 7, where he admitted that she has leaned on him during it all. However, he admitted that they are still trying to figure things out between them.Â
“I don’t want to be her crutch, right?” he said in a clip published to Instagram. “So I’m just trying to find that right balance, just ’cause I know her mental state and just how fragile she is.”
