Kyle Cooke is “for the first time in a long time, having fun,” he declares in the above preview of Summer House Season 10, Episode 12 (airing Tuesday, April 21 at 8/7c).
“Feeling a little more light-hearted, a little like myself — and it’s ‘cuz my wife’s nowhere to be seen,” he adds of Amanda Batula, who’s absent from the group’s night out in the sneak peek. “That is a rude awakening. And it makes me realize just how effed we really are.”
Elsewhere in conversation with Ben Waddell, Kyle continues opening up: “Yo, real talk, I’m gonna level with you. I basically really felt bad the first couple of weeks. Just, I felt like you saw me at my worst.”
“I don’t think this is your worst,” Ben responds. “I’ve seen what you are going through; don’t think that I am judging you about anything. Everyone goes through troubles with business and relationships. I’m not looking at that going, ‘That’s who you are.’ Mate, I know exactly who you are.”

Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula’s relationship woes on Summer House Season 10, explained
Though Kyle and Amanda have always been candid about the ups and downs in their marriage, they’ve been particularly open on Summer House Season 10. On the premiere, Kyle opined, “Every summer, Amanda just makes me feel like I don’t exist. She just, like, doesn’t f–k with me.”
Separately, Amanda stated: “Once upon a time, I thought, like, you fall in love, and when you choose the person that you want to get married to, you’re happy. And then you have kids. And then things get difficult. … I didn’t think s–t would be this hard in the first few years. Like, this is not where I thought my life would be right now.”
In subsequent episodes, Kyle’s late nights and frequent travel as a DJ became a big source of tension between him and Amanda. “Where do I fit in?” she asked him during Episode 7. “I’m just trying to figure out … if you’re taking, like, us into consideration with some of these decisions.”
But Kyle defended his choice to tour as a DJ. “I’m making money doing DJ gigs, but I’m also getting Loverboy into venues that normally charge,” he explained to producers. “I don’t understand how she doesn’t see it from my perspective. Like, she could care less about my business, my debt, my employees. Some of them have families; I’m paying for their benefits. Our future, our financial future, you’d think that would matter to Amanda.”
Kyle Cooke reveals more on financial problems with Loverboy
In addition to troubles in his marriage, Kyle has also been candid about his financial problems with his business, Loverboy, during Summer House Season 10. During Episode 2, he confided in Carl Radke that he had to put $500,000 into Loverboy, and shared that he hadn’t taken a salary for about nine months.
By Episode 8, Kyle told West Wilson that Loverboy could only last “six months at most” based on its current cash reserves at that point. Ben also offered more perspective on Loverboy’s troubles to Jesse Solomon and Ciara Miller.

“I didn’t realize, but, [Kyle is] personally on the hook for Loverboy. Like millions of dollars,” Ben revealed. “He personally guaranteed a $4 million loan because Loverboy was doing well and it was going up. And there’s $2.1 million left on the loan. So if Loverboy tanks, then he’s bankrupt and he’s lost everything… What must be going through his head 24/7 at the moment is, ‘If Loverboy’s bankrupt, I’m bankrupt also.’”
