The Real Housewives of New Jersey‘s Teresa Giudice, for her part, explained that some of her most iconic lines like “engaged 19 times” and “love, love, love” were off the cuff. As she put it, “Real Housewives is real. Some people think it’s scripted, and no, it’s not scripted. We’re living our real lives.”
Kyle Richards, who has appeared on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for 15 consecutive seasons, revealed that although cameras capture a lot of their lives, there is so much that they don’t air. “I mean, we are shooting nonstop, and then you watch the show and you’re like, ‘Oh my gosh, wait a minute — I wasted an outfit,” she said with a laugh. “I mean, there’s so many moments that aren’t captured that I think people would really be surprised by.”
Although Porsha Williams is used to the cameras documenting her life on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, she admitted to Bravo Insider that she still gets a little “nervous” when it comes to filming. “You would think we just do this and we’re used to the cameras, but ten plus years and there are still moments where I’m shaking,” she explained. “You get used to them. But there are definitely times where it’s like, ‘OK, this is a big deal.'”
And while Cynthia Bailey is a friend on RHOA Season 17, she admitted to Bravo Insider that appearing on the show in any capacity is still a full-time job. “Like, it’s a full-time commitment,” she said. “And I will say, as someone who was a Housewife for over a decade, I love that the space of being a friend has been something that I think I’m killing for Season 17.”

Porsha said that being on RHOA helped her develop her own brand and vision for her life. “I try to represent myself in a certain way,” she admitted. “I definitely have built a brand from being on the show. And it’s great for keeping you relevant for different things that you’re doing. And I have been able to over the years, although I have been a Housewives reality star, I’ve been able to also branch out and do a lot of other things. So it’s a lot of positives along with the drama.”

Lisa Barlow
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City‘s Lisa Barlow told Bravo Insider that Real Housewives changed her life in “so many different ways,” explaining, “I think you get a different view of yourself, [one] that you either saw before and it’s magnified, or you just see different things. And it’s really cool to see yourself from an outsider’s perspective.”
What’s more, “II love capturing my family,” Lisa added. “I love that I have my family documented.”
Gizelle Bryant
Like Porsha, The Real Housewives of Potomac‘s Gizelle Bryant said that being a Real Housewife has had a major impact on her career. “It’s given me a platform to do so many things that I’ve wanted to do and that I’ve been interested in,” she said. “Like, I wrote a book. I had a makeup line. I’m now on a huge podcast, Reasonably Shady. So it’s given me a platform to do some other cool things, and it definitely will change the fact that everybody knows who you are. Anonymity is gone.”
Luann de Lesseps
For The Real Housewives of New York City alum Luann de Lesseps, being a Real Housewife taught her how to embrace her life. “It has taught me to have a sense of humor. And not to take it too seriously — just, like, life. ‘Cause life gives you your ups and downs,” she stated. “And it’s how you roll with it and how you roll with the punches. And God knows for me, I’ve had a lot of punches.”
More importantly, “Real Housewives has changed my life really in the best possible way, because I found my love affair with cabaret,” Luann concluded.
Teresa Giudice
Teresa, who has been a housewife since RHONJ Season 1, admitted that she’s no longer a stranger to the public. As she put it, “I’m noticed wherever I go. I mean, I was just in Florence, and they’re like, ‘Teresa!’ Like, I take pictures wherever I go.”
Thankfully, she doesn’t mind. “If it wasn’t for the fans, we wouldn’t be here. So I’m never mean. I never act like I’m too good to take a picture,” Teresa said. “I know how excited they get when they see me, so I’m always nice and always take a picture with them.”

Kyle Richards
Kyle explained that while being a cast member on RHOBH for 15 seasons exposed her to “a world of being scrutinized and analyzed and dissected and picked apart,” it’s also “opened doors for me to do the things that I love.”Â
Chief among them? “Creating and producing television and making TV shows,” Kyle said. “I started my production company, House of 18, and I have four shows in development there, and it really helped doing the Housewives and being able to open the doors to talk about things that I love.”
Drew Sidora
Drew Sidora told Bravo Insider that being a cast member on RHOA has been “forever life changing” for her. But, the most important thing that it did was introduce her to some very strong women. “I’m so grateful for the platform because I get to meet amazing women, right? Who are all strong, very opinionated bosses,” she stated. “I’ve been inspired by so many ladies I’ve gotten to sit at the table with.”

I mean that still comes up. Me screaming ‘That’s my opinion’ to Vicki [Gunvalson]. I mean there’s so many, it’s so hard to even remember everything. All these years that I’ve been on this show. Cynthia noted that she is very fond of her “friendship contract” that she introduced during RHOA Season 3, Episode 11. As she put it, “The friend contract is definitely my contribution to the Housewives world.”
