There’s been some unfortunate developments at Kyle Richards’ home.
Although she isn’t exactly roughing it, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills mom revealed that the last several days have been fairly uncomfortable, as she and her family are dealing with a broken air conditioner. Kyle shared the update in her August 26 Amazon Live stream, suggesting she had no idea when the issue would be resolved.

“Side note: The air conditioning on the ground floor of my house here is not working,” she told viewers. “The [repair] guys come out three days in a row; there’s, like, a part they have to get. So, I’m dying, basically, sitting here.”
But the home issues didn’t end there. Kyle also confirmed that there was no running hot water in her Encino house; however, it’s unclear if the water issue was related to the faulty AC.

“We’ve had no hot water in the house for also three days,” she explained. “So, I go to shower in the guest house.”

Kyle likened the situation to Little House on the Prairie, the historical TV series set in the 19th century. The former child actor first appeared on the show in 1975, taking on the recurring role of Alicia Sanderson Edwards.
“Every time I feel like I’m in the Little House on the Prairie, where they go to the outhouse,” Kyle joked. “I have to get all my things and carry it, and walk outside.
“It’s a really nice guest house,” she continued with a laugh. “It just feels weird having to leave my house to walk outside to go to the shower. But that’s what we’ve been doing for three days. So between the no air conditioning and the no hot water, it’s… I don’t know. It’s interesting.”

Kyle and her estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky, purchased the Encino property in 2017, nearly six years before they announced their separation. Mauricio has since moved out of the family home and relocated to a luxury condo in West Hollywood.

Kyle still resides at the house with her two youngest daughters — 25-year-old Sophia Umansky and 17-year-old Portia Umansky — and their dogs. Although she’s getting closer and closer to becoming an empty-nester, Kyle said she has no immediate plans to leave the estate.
“As of now, I’m staying in this home, because this house is kind of irreplaceable,” she said during an August 2024 Amazon Live stream. “And I have a lot of dogs. I don’t even know where I could go with this many dogs, honestly.”
