A Wisconsin man allegedly assaulted a shuttle driver outside a popular stadium after witnesses saw him emerging from a manhole.
Alandis Tribblett, 21, was charged with two counts of battery, disorderly conduct and obstructing or resisting an officer in connection with an incident that occurred Sept. 13 outside Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. According to a criminal complaint reviewed by Law&Crime, Tribblett was seen by witnesses going “in and out” of a manhole near the stadium for half an hour that night, “disrupting traffic while ranting nonsensically.”
Tribblett was seen pounding on shuttle buses used by the nearby Natty Oaks bar and restaurant. He reportedly went up to one of the drivers, who told local ABC affiliate WISN that she was playing a game on her phone while sitting in her bus, and asked her, “Who are you calling?” He then allegedly threatened to kill her if she used her phone to call someone.
According to the criminal complaint, another driver, a 63-year-old man, went to check on his colleague and approached Tribblett. Tribblett allegedly punched the older man, causing him to hit the back of his head on the bus and fall unconscious. When police interviewed the driver, he said he remembered Tribblett asking him if “he had kids in the back of those vans.”
When police approached Tribblett, he was reportedly ranting about “underground tunnels where they are sex trafficking kids.” Tribblett allegedly refused to comply with police orders to put his hands behind his back. He was eventually taken into custody when more officers arrived to detain him.
In a Facebook video, John Roots, the owner of Natty Oaks, addressed the incident, including the alleged assault on his “favorite” driver, who has not been named publicly, but was reportedly treated at the hospital and released. Roots said Tribblett “needs help.”
According to the complaint, Tribblett was also taken to the hospital, where he allegedly bit the police officer who took him there. Police said Tribblett was wearing a “spit mask” at the time and did not break the skin, but the bite was hard enough to cause a bruise.
Tribblett is currently in custody at the Milwaukee County Jail, where he is being held on $1,000 bail. His next court date is scheduled for Nov. 4.
