Mauricio Umansky is sharing major updates on his separation from estranged wife Kyle Richards. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills couple had been married for 27 years prior to announcing their separation in October 2023, and are still separated three years later. Mauricio is now sharing new details about their separate lives.Â
“Kyle and I are great friends; that’s the bottom line,” he said, appearing on E!‘s Hot Goss on Oct. 15. There are still so many emotions between Kyle and Mauricio, who share four daughters. Â
“She and I had a relationship for 30 years. She’s my best friend, she’s the mother of my kids, we loved each other, we love each other,” he said. “If we can teach anybody anything, it’s how to do it with elegance and dignity and have respect for each other.”

Are Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky getting back together?
Mauricio played coy when it came to talking about them possibly getting back together. “We just take it a day at a time right now. I’m not going to give you any insight that I don’t have yet,” he told the outlet.
Kyle spoke on reconciliation speculation during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in January 2026, admitting that she didn’t know who started rumors about them getting back together. “I don’t know where that story came from,” she said, as seen in the video above.Â
Have Mauricio Umansky and Kyle Richards filed for divorce yet?
No. When Mauricio spoke with E! this month, he shared why they haven’t filed any paperwork to make things permanent between them. “Obviously we have not filed yet. But to all of these separations that people go through, do it with dignity,” he said.
During her WWHL appearance earlier this year, Kyle spoke more about their divorce status. She noted at the time that they have talked about what a divorce could look like between them. “We have had conversations about what this is going to look like and all of that,” she said.

What’s next for Mauricio Umansky and Kyle Richards?
Although Mauricio and Kyle are still separated, they are about to enter a new chapter of their lives together as grandparents. Kyle’s oldest daughter, Farrah Brittany Aldjufrie, is currently expecting her first child and their first grandchild in November. And Mauricio could not be any more excited about this. “Less than a month, I’m going to be a grandpa. I’m ready to go,” he told Extra in an interview published on Oct. 15. “If every grandpa could feel the way I feel, my body feels good, I’m fit, I can still do a lot of stuff, I’m ready to go. And welcome to grandpa life…[It’s] the first boy in the family, and I’m excited about that. Godspeed with him. We will be taking him on adventures.”
